Cass smiled, daring to lift his hand enough to stroke Percy's face and hair. It didn't hurt. Too much any way. It was worth it either way.
'I won't stop fighting in battles, Percy, that I cannot do. The war can't afford to lose more wands. The job, that I can be without, but lending my wand where it needs to be, fighting against those who try to destroy our world, that I can't stop doing.'
He leaned his forehead against Percy's. 'I'll be more careful though,' he said. 'And I'll not run off without back-up. In London I was outnumbered, this time I was reckless and angry. That is another mistake I won't make twice.'
He couldn't help but to laugh a bit at the story, shaking his head. 'Now you should obviously stay far away from the battle field,' he said with a smirk. 'Better that way, or I'd probably be distracted.'
When Percy went on, he nodded. He did understand that Percy couldn't just trust him fully again, but he would do all he could to regain Percy's trust. He wouldn't betray him again, which was why he thought carefully on the question asked. He knew he'd not done anything during the relationship that Percy could object to, but there were aspects in his life before they were together that he was sure Percy wouldn't like - like him sleeping with Ginny for instance. There was also the knowledge he had on his friends - that Miles most likely had a dark mark under that tattoo of his, that Montague was a Death Eater too, that Higgs was involved in the black market...but he didn't think Percy meant those kinds of things. He'd offer them up in the investigation if necessary. He'd do this the right way.
He sighed. 'It depends on what you mean, Percy. If you mean from our time together, then no,' he said honestly. 'There is nothing. If you're talking about my life as it was before, I'm sure there are plenty of things you would not approve of, some that you would be guaranteed to dislike. Should I really list them all though? Do you even want to know about them?' He paused.
'It's up to you, Percy. I won't hesitate to tell you anything you want to know, and that doesn't just go for now. If you ever ask me anything, I will answer.'
