Dennis raised an eyebrow as she spoke about her father. She seemed to take great stock in his word, and what he'd always said. Dennis tried to remember his own father, but right now, all he could think to recall was the pleading tone in his voice as he killed him, silencing him forever.
But he had to admit, Luna had spirit, and he chuckled. "You know, I'd almost pay to see you take her on, Luna. That would be one fine duel to watch."
She seemed mesmerised by his stories, all made up, of course. He wondered, not for the first time, if she would want to truly find out what he got up to. The thought crossed his mind again.
He cocked his head to the side, considering his words carefully. "You know, if you want, I could take you out there one night. Don't you get a little bored being here in the village all the time?" It was the first time he had ever hinted to any dissatisfaction at being in Hogsmeade. "I mean, you should be out there and finding yourself a fella." He smirked at the words, wanting to see the amusement on her face, remembering to keep his own look innocent.
