"Of course I made you question everything, and I was right. You're happy now." That might sound very arrogant, but as far as Stephen was concerned, it was just a truthful and objective observation. "If more people tried to reason with you, maybe you would have done it for other as well."
Stephen's hand slid down Adrian's body and settled on his hip. "They are girls, teenage girls. I believe insanity is a requirement, not an option." He slapped Adrian's hip. "You'd do no such thing. In fact, you shouldn't even say it aloud."
He sighed, and kissed him again. "You're right. It wouldn't be you, and I love you the way you are. Besides, it's a moot point now. However, I don't think that you'd be worse off. I think you would have bonded with the one person in the house who would have paid attention to you, and a younger sibling always pays attention. It's part of the job description."
