Hestia met her gaze and gave a small, eventually head nod. "You could say live, yes. They can't own property," a note that they both knew was the Ministry's fault and her voice took on a deeper tone, but no otherwise outward motion. "So they are allowed to stay for as long as they like. I have a few that have found other friends, relatives, that have taken them in after a time- so no, they do not necessarily stay- but they are allowed to do so as long as needed." Georgiana and Jacob prime examples, they had been with her for over a year.
As Umbridge kept asking questions, she just wanted to lie, but it wasn't in her; not to mention she had no idea what this woman wanted her to say. Perhaps she wanted her to say that she was careless, so that whatever evil scheme she had in place would be foiled- but then she put the safety of her children at risk; the other option was to say she was (which she was) then she could be labeled as a 'werewolf lover'.
Either was not looking very savory to the care of her children, of her wards...
Sighing internally, she finally took a sip of her tea slowly before giving a small nod. "Of course. I know who is in the house, I walk them all to the warded zone... And upon return I check everywhere and then for the remainder of the evening the children and I stay in the flat above, it's warded to only allow myself and a handful of others in, not to mention the locks." Considering most magic did not effect werewolves.
