"No, I'm not saying you're incapable," he clarified, holding back the impatient sigh. It wasn't her fault, but merlin, this was evidence enough that he could never marry. Eventually, even the ones he cared for, tried his patience. "Fine, fine," he backed down. "I don't know Massimo, and I don't know if he was the sort to try and force himself onto you. I know you've got a backbone."
"I don't know where he is. You wouldn't tell me - us. You were in Spain with him - that's where the healers found you."
He turned and looked at the photograph again. "Yes, that's Verity. I put their names on the back of the photo, just in case you forgot."
"Do you remember your family?" he asked, hoping to trigger something else, and maybe she'd remember they were in the middle of flirting.
