Don was willing to listen to his son's excuses, but even he could see right through them. He was merely paying lip service, and truly could not, or would not explain what he though he was up to.
He had not expected him to question his decision about Damian - that was between himself, and his oldest son.

Don refused to acknowledge that he was scared. This was not like Guilian, but then again, if he had given himself over to dark magic, then Don truly didn't know what they should do.
Which is why he did the only thing he could. "Very well." He kept a calm voice. "You'll come home with me then, and you can stay back home. I can get you help. Help you can't get here." It was settled.

He knew the Lestranges might not be pleased. "I'll find a way to compensate Lestrange for the loss of your services." It would be worth it to get his son back to his old self, and to keep his family together.
