Dennis didn't think there could be a more innocent soul on the planet. Perhaps his plan had merit that might last more than just a few days or weeks. Perhaps he could use her for much more. He just had to keep himself under control.
He obeyed when she said where he could sit. "I'm pretty good with a knife, if you need anything chopped." Although he'd rather see what would happen if she just happened to nick herself with a knife. That would be interesting.
Quietly sitting, he watched her work, so oblivious to the potential danger she had just invited into her house. "Well that's good." When she brought out the lily, he did smile. "Oh, I know where you can get more of those, but they're a way aways from here, a bit further up in the highlands. I could probably get them for you - I've ahh... discovered that there are some things I can do better now than before, even though I've got no magic left."
