Darling Padma,
Happy birthday, dear friend! I know it's a strange gift, but I saw it, and I immediately pictured a rare old book inside, and who do I know that is more likely to collect rare old books but still have an appreciation for the beauty of antiques than you????? I've encluded a book on preservation spells. You probably already have it, but just in case.
So what lovely plans do you have for your birthday? And more importantly, what did that wonderful husband of yours give you? Nosy, aren't I? Picture me giggling. And have you taught little Nathaniel the proper way to observe his mummy's birthday yet? I've been trying to teach Polly but she just looks at me with the oddest expression on her face and says, 'No.' It's her favourite word, sadly. Antonin Dolohov tells me it is because she knows that word has power when Mummy says it and she wants some of that power. Perhaps Polly will be a future Minister? I could live with being the mum of the wizarding world's most beloved Minister. I think I'll have to discuss it with her. After she gets over the 'no' phase, of course!
