Daphne had thought about leaving the boys at home for the party on Dolohov's boat, but it had been quickly pushed away when she saw how excited Liam was to see the 'pirate' ship. Liam's excitement seemed to be contagious, as Nigel wouldn't stop shouting his name and bouncing up and down on his quickly strengthening legs.
She'd left her youngest son with Zorbin while she'd gone off to get ready, dressing in red robes for the evening. She didn't quite have a baby bump yet, and she planned on showing off for perhaps the last time until she managed to work off the baby weight she was sure to gain (perhaps the only thing she wasn't happy about).
Daphne couldn't help but glow at the idea that she was going to have a baby girl. She'd always been a little jealous that her friend Pansy had had one (not that she didn't LOVE Nigel dearly), but something about the idea of a daughter thrilled her to pieces.
Getting Nigel from his playroom and walking with him into the front foyer (he was walking so well now), she smiled brightly at Miles as he asked if she was ready. "I think he'll be pleasantly surprised," she said, chuckling. Frankly, she thought they were both already surprised by how well everything had seemingly worked out (except the whole Lestrange thing, of course).
Picking Nigel up for the trip to the boat, Daphne walked over to Miles, giving him a kiss on the lips as she slipped an arm around him. "Let's go."
