Rab let Guilian pull away, watching as he struggled with himself. He knew of this inner battle all too well, and this was the most stressful part of the learning for both men. If Guilian came to his senses and looked better, then all would be well. If the darkness completely took Guilian... he would have no choice but to kill him where he stood. That was not the most welcome option, but the only one he could use.
He watched as Guilian paced, struggling with himself. Finally, all motion and sound stopped. Rab looked cautiously as Guilian looked around. When the boy finally looked at Rab, he could see and sense the darkness retreating. He gave a sigh and smiled. "Welcome back, Guilian," he said, stepping over and putting his hand on the boy's shoulder. "You have just won the most important battle of your training. You fought back the darkness inside after it overtook you. Well done, Guilian... well done." He held up Guilian's wand, then held it out for him to take.
