Linda had been busy reading a book when the door bell rang, and she looked up almost in surprise to the sound. She had friends of course, but only rarely did one of them come by without letting her know first, knowing how she valued her privacy.
Or at least they thought it was her privacy she valued. More often than not her annoyance at surprise visitors over the year had to do with Cassius or his father.
Now though, there was someone at the door, and Linda got up from her chair and walked over to it, and opened it, a surprised look on her face when she saw the stranger outside.
'How may I help you?' she asked, holding onto the door as Cassius always nagged her to do (he really was quite too protective), she was not about to let the stranger in without good reason.
