Penny smiled wryly and looked up from the small circular tag in her hand. "Formalities usually never last, but it's nice to give the effort." She agreed with him yes, she just had a different way of saying it.
When Theo gave the owl's name and said that she was his, a quick spell magically engraved the names on the small circlet and transferred the same names onto the Ministry approved forms for each owl. "Alright then." Penny picked up another circlet for Akela and nodded, smiling when he mentioned Padma. "I do remember Padma. I was a couple years ahead of course but it's hard not to take notice of twins that got sorted into different houses."
Penny opened Athena's cage, having put down the tag for Akela next to hers. "Okay... aren't you lovely." She said to Athena, as she was perched on the owl stand on the exam table. Gently Penny took up the circlet and the two halves closed with a click... another charm sealed it at the same and Athena gave a quick squawk at her. "Oh hush, every girl likes new jewellery." She gave a smile to Theo and sat down with her quill and the fomr. "So... is there anything I should know about Athena? Any distinguishing markings, scars." Penny looked her over even as she asked her question - an owner would certainly know better than she would, especially at first glance.
