If Theodore Nott was stupid enough to think she would not take her own precautions, or for that matter to think he would not- then the man was an idiot and she would make it her goal to see him destroyed. Not that, on some level, that had not been her previous objective- only slightly less sinister. He had failed at his duty, she had no qualms in taking it over.
She’d also made sure to send one of her, and her alone, loyal contacts to scope the house out prior to their meeting. He had not been able to get in, the wards prevented that… But the man had been able to tell her certain things- and that was enough. She would have to trust her own defenses once she walked into the house.
Shoulders erect, chin raised, she knew enough from her own research the sort of man Theodore Nott was; and his recent wedding and birth of a child, a converted family man. Such an…interesting…change of occupation. Knocking, she looked down at her own watch, nearly smirking at what the hands told her, running a graceful hand over the very formal, business robes, she was exactly on time. Perfect.
