Summary: Oliver visits Natalie. Randomly.
Colin had just left and locked up the shop for the night, leaving Natalie alone. She headed up the stairs and collapsed onto the sofa, tired after a long day. She stared up at the ceiling, wishing for the first time in a long time that she had a telly to watch or a radio to listen to. It was really the only thing that she didn't like about this world. The lack of muggle technology.
She reached behind her and grabbed her book from the side table next to the sofa, flipping to the marked page and settling in to read.
Her eyelids grew heavy, though, and she quickly drifted off into a nap, the book laying forgotten face down against her chest as she slept.
She enjoyed the way he looked at her. The way he watched her as if he only had eyes for her. It made her feel special. The kind of special she was used to seeing only in films or in books. The fairy tale stuff. The stuff that turns even cynics into piles of goo.
It didn't really surprise her when he rode towards her on his majestic white steed, his brown hair blowing perfectly in the wind, his fantastically straight teeth glinting in the sunlight...she sighed appreciatively, of course, as he looked rather miraculous.
"Beautiful girl...my life partner, my one coquette, the answer to my love's duet..."
Natalie grinned happily as he spoke, feeling her heart swell so much she felt she could just burst into song.
"I've been dreaming..."
Natalie jolted awake as she heard a loud knock on the door downstairs, and she rubbed her eyes tiredly. She glanced at her watch and found that she hadn't been asleep for even an hour, not that that mattered, really, considering she'd still been woken up...it'd been a silly dream, but she'd been enjoying it.
She grabbed her wand and headed downstairs, peeking her head around the corner just a bit so that she could see who was at the door. The wards had alerted her that it was someone she could trust, and when she saw Oliver standing outside, she couldn't help but grin. She walked to the door and opened it, smiling up at him.
"I was just thinking about you," she said, grinning even wider.
