"Yes, we were so fortunate to be away. That was perhaps the upside of Nathaniel's rather difficult birth." It seemed like a lifetime ago, but she could not argue that her recuperation had helped them stay away from the mess of the pox.
She giggled just a little, amused by Daphne's reaction. She wondered if the Miles had been as reluctant to say he loved her as Theo had been at first. "I think that's how you catch them - don't go looking for one."
"Oh a drawing room is always a good place to start. Dark you say? Well if you need a hand to brighten up the place, you just have to ask." Padma put down her tea and called for Sippy. She quietly asked the elf for some sample swatches of her silks.
"You can take some of my swatches home with you - see what colours would suit best. That's often a good place to start." Padma seemed satisfied that would be a good place to start.
At the mention of a bird statue, Padma had to bite her lip. So that's where the damn bird from the library went after Theo and Bill removed it. Honestly, did Theo have to continue this rivalry with Bletchley? How could she have them all over for a dinner party if that were the case? "Oh how ghastly."
But she couldn't just tell Daphne where it had come from. "You know, I was reading something recently about curses, and cursed artefacts." She licked her lips and thought how she could help Daphne with this. "You should investigate curses, and think about who might want to put something like that in your home. It wouldn't be one of your husband's ancestors, would it?"
