Rodolphus,
I met with Umbridge yesterday for lunch, an interesting meeting indeed as she disclosed far more than she thought she did. First of all, she is quite interested in information, particularly information about those who works for her, and about the Order of the Phoenix. She, however, showed no interest what so ever in retaining information about you or the Death Eaters. In fact she did not even hint in that direction during the entire lunch.
Secondly, she seems highly prejudice against creatures in general. She spoke of replacing Lupin as the headmaster, and her views of Goblins seemed no higher than her views on werewolves. She is also not fond of Muggles, and nearly shivered at the mere mention of them.
As a person she's easily manipulated, though still sharp enough to seem suspicious and paranoid at times. Her taste is simple if not poor, and she's easily flattered and susceptible to even the simplest gifts.
In conclusion, Umbridge holds none of the charisma or sharpness that Ogden did. She will not rally the troops to her defence anytime soon. Nor do I get the impression that she's very interested in fighting at all, more in getting control of the world she currently holds in her grip. Or think she holds in her grip.
I met with Umbridge for lunch yesterday and I dare say she gave away far more than she thought she did. To start with her attitudes towards the Lestranges, she seems to have none what so ever. Even after being offered information about anything – and anyone – she was far more interested in gaining information about the Order than the Death Eaters, so much so that she did not even hint at the possibility.
She did ask for information on those who works for her however, as well as on the Order in general. Do let me know what information you want passed on to her.
Secondly, she is highly prejudiced against creatures, werewolves especially, and she will not take well to Lupin being in charge – as she is not fond of him being in charge of Hogwarts. She is also prejudice against Muggles, and even shivered at the mere word.
As for her personality I do not see neither Aurors nor anyone else gathering to support her and would recommend the Order to try and gain support of the head of Aurors or the Aurors themselves if that cannot be done. She has nothing of Ogden's charisma and as I said seemed not interested in the Death Eaters and the war at all. What she does seem interested in is power and money.
If and when I find out more information about her, I will of course pass it along.
