"You've seen Stephen, right? I have no problem going to sleep at night once we're finished," he replied, blowing Cormac a kiss. "And I'm still prettier than you."
He frowned. "I just don't understand why so many Aurors are wasted on an office. I mean, sure, report writing is important but can't we have quote quills or secretaries for that? We just seem to waste so much time," he finished lamely. "You know the feeling?" he asked.
"Use Legilimency? I wish. No, I've put Floot on his trail but I have a feeling he's using his house elves and Floot's inordinately fond of Stephen since he got him a Christmas present. He'll use every loophole possible not to tell me," he explained.
"You want to know the reason?" Adrian asked, confused. "No, I love children. I like spending time with Violet and William's children. It's just... You knew my father. What if it's hereditary? What if I turn out to be just like him?" he asked, chewing on his lower lip unconsciously. "I don't want to risk it."
Adrian frowned, but didn't say anything for a moment. "He always looks too skinny. What he needs is a few good doses of Dreamless Sleep potion, food, no research and no Ben for a week but that's impossible," he said. "I'll mention it to Stephen, see what he thinks about it. God knows nobody can call me and Boot close."
