Morag's head tilted back slightly as she watched Vaisey while he spoke. Her eyes showed her acknowledgment of his read on Percy. 'True,' she answered, her lips quirking. 'He only recently admitted that he didn't loathe the sight of me, and that's after working for years together for a man we both knew would be perfectly happy if we'd ended up in some sort of relationship.' She snorted, looking almost amused. 'He'd have probably have been happier, in fact. She couldn't stop the flash of pain that crossed her face at the thought, but Tibby had cared about them both, and they'd known it well.
'Bloody pig-headed git!' she snapped. 'As if anyone would deny him the right to let off steam and drink himself silly with a co-worker after the past week! Honestly, no one holds him up to such a high expectation save him himself!' She had to roll her eyes.
'I'm sorry,' she apologized when she'd gotten herself better in control. 'I worry about him and the pressure he puts on himself,' she explained uncharacteristically.
Her posture changed slightly, the tension and tautness just perceptible as Vaisey crossed his arms. 'That's exactly what I'm asking,' she said in a voice deceptively soft but still backed with steel. 'Percy is the best friend I have, and I know him very, very well. And I know his views on relationships quite well.' Merlin knew they'd run afoul of hers on more than one occasion....
'I want to know exactly what you, Mr. Vaisey, have in mind regarding Percy because I have no intentions of seeing him hurt because you are playing him or callous towards his feelings or taking advantage of him.' She was calm and certain, and there was no question of whether she meant exactly what she was saying. If Cass Vaisey hurt Percy, she was going to hunt him down and rip his heart from his chest.
