They were most definitely not sober. Actually they were quite far from sober, or properly dressed, only neither of them wanted to try the stairs because they were definitely not sober.
One empty bottle of firewhiskey was already lying on the table (when they'd knocked it over, Cass wasn't sure). The second bottle was still half full, but right now forgotten, as their lips were a bit too busy doing other things than drinking.
They didn't - well he didn't - register the knock at first, not until Plato started to bark, which reminded him more that Plato was actually still in the room rather than the fact that someone had knocked on the door. Once that part registered however, he wondered if he should get up and leave, only he was comfortable and didn't want to leave. Besides, it was probably Pansy...or maybe even Susan...no Susan wouldn't - it had to be Pansy who wanted to see how they were holding up.
'Pansy, must be,' he said and staying put (because walking would not be advisable right now) he flicked his wand before Percy had the chance to protest (well he did protest but it was too late by then) opening the door and allowing Pansy to let herself inside.
'In here,' he called out, rolling his eyes at Percy. 'Who else could it be?' he asked.
