Neville had gotten Ginny home with little fuss, but he could tell she was having a severe battle of thoughts inside her head. Thankfully though, they were both quiet, Neville himself was still running over the events of the battle.
He remembered shooting off arrows this way and that, catching glances of what was going on between Ginny and Rodolphus when he could get a better view. Neville witnessed her arm getting brutally slashed and the mobility was slim to none, with blood running down her arm. He wanted to get her out of there so badly, but that would have been twice the Archer had gotten her out of battle - plus the fact that Ginny would've been extremely angry at him. She could take care of herself, and she didn't need him coming in between to try and save her. Neville trusted Ginny's judgment 100 per cent.
That's why when he finally saw her apparate away just before Rodolphus was set to strike her again - most likely it would've killed her - Neville breathed a silent shuddering sigh of relief from beneath his hood. Though he knew that Ginny would be sore with herself. He had stayed behind for a good amount of time, knowing exactly where Ginny would be. When he was done, he apparated to Longbottom House and put his supplies away and cleaned himself up.
Once he'd arrived at the Shack, hurried and a knot of panic in his stomach and many many thoughts in his head .. 'What if she lost too much blood? What if there's nerve damage...'. He found her though, in one of the rooms bandaged and looking very pale from loss of blood. But Bloody Merlin was he glad that she was alive.
Neville had been to the shack every day to bring her food, sit with her and talk, until that day when they said she could go home. A sling around her bandaged arm still covered the healed slash and Neville knew she didn't want to be babied, even though he tried to get everything she wanted or needed. Through everything though, Neville sensed that Ginny was upset about something. Not that she was hurt - she held her own wonderfully and he intended on telling her if that was what was bothering her - it was something else.
Toby had just brought up some tea and a bit of food for Ginny when Neville approached her, smiling but searching her eyes with a hand on her shoulder. "So are you going to tell me what's on your mind, or am I going to have to guess." The look on his face was kind, as it always was around Ginny.
