Summary: After the meeting, people chatter about what's going to happen.
Terry's hands had finally stopped shaking. Since he'd stopped speaking awhile back, he thought this was several minutes too late to be any help at all. Luckily, however, he didn't think anyone had noticed while he was addressing them. As far as he could tell, the meeting had gone as well as could be expected. It was natural that people had had questions, and Terry had answered them as best he could.
Stephen and Adrian hadn't attended, he hadn't expected them to, so Terry had explained about the Runes and how a time-release charm would set them to go off when Terry pulled the trigger, so to speak. It made sense to him, but he only hoped it made sense to everyone else. The idea for the attack had been met well, with several people offering ideas on how to get Muggle explosives, and what plants and chemicals could be utilized to make homemade bombs without magic.
It had been decided that the attack would take place on April nineteenth, at dawn. The hour was so Lestrange couldn't make use of his pet vampires, though there was still threat of other magical creatures that would have to be deal with. Hopefully the explosions would damage enough of the wards around the Death Eater stronghold, and distract the enemy enough so the Order and Aurors would remain on the offensive.
This was where the Unbreakable Oath was to come in. In order for the attack to remain a surprise, only those approved by Remus and Percy would be able to be told. Those at the meeting had been required to sign their name to a document Terry had prepared with a binding spell, that would make it impossible to speak or write about the attack to anyone not on the list. If it was tried, the offender would speak or write in riddles and tongue twisters that had nothing to do at all with the attack. However, because there would be many bodies needed to overcome the Death Eaters, on the day of the attack a Patronus would be released to additional Aurors and Order members, giving them the coordinates of the attack. This was a more common practice, and left little room for the attack to be leaked before hand, while still ensuring the number of people they'd need.
After the oath had been taken, and Terry had explained in detail what he'd done, a plan of attack had been mapped out down to the smallest detail. There could be no room for error in the first few minutes. Terry and Oliver, along with several other Aurors and Order members on brooms, were set to lead the advance. They'd go ahead of the rest, Terry so he could set off the runes, and Oliver so he could drop the first bomb. There would be people scattered on the ground to provide protection charms to the flyers. As soon as the bombs were released, the aerial guard was to dive for cover and join the ground contingent to wait for the Death Eaters to come out. The rest of the Order and Aurors would be waiting, some with brooms and more explosives, some with their wands and Muggle weaponry. Those Aurors and Order members with gun training were asked to make sure to have their sidearms prepared.
The thought was as soon as the Runes went off it would trigger the destruction of several of Lestranges' wards. That, coupled with the release of Muggle explosives, would draw the Death Eaters out from behind the Fidelius charm. At which point, the Order and Aurors would have been waiting, concealed and protected behind strong shielding charms, and attack. From there it was impossible to plan for every contingency, but it had been made known by those in charge (ostensibly Remus and Percy) that in light of recent events in the village neighboring Hogsmeade, capturing Death Eaters alive was not exactly a priority this go round. It was clear that use of any means necessary would be necessary at this juncture.
After the last of questions had been answered, or in some cases debated, and the majority of those present satisfied with the plan, Remus officially ended the meeting, though several people stayed behind. Terry had wanted to leave immediately, Ernie was waiting after all, it was far later than he'd planned to be, but as the de facto Order member in charge of this attack, he'd felt it was his responsibility to stay awhile longer.
