'Oh, aren't you sweet?' Pansy said, kissing Cass on the cheek. 'To help with that like you did,' she added. 'And lucky for me!' She stroked the soft fur along the kitten's back and then scratched her behind her ears.
'I'll have to look up a charm to keep her little claws from scratching Polly,' she said. She and Harry would have to teach Polly to be gentle with the kitten, too. She was pretty sure trying to eat it wouldn't go over well.
She noticed the basket and remembered the books Percy had sent. 'Thank Percy for the books, darling,' she said. 'Don't let him know I let a kitten distract me....' she giggled.
