OWL: Padma to Parvati Date: 9 April 2006 Characters: Padma Nott, Parvati Patil Location: Forter Castle to Hogsmeade Private/Public: Private Rating: G Warnings: - Summary: What comes after climbing the walls? Padma doesn't know, but she needs just a little more contact than just her husband, and her son. Who better than her sister, who has been somewhat silent.
Dear Parvati,
You know, I used to have this sister, her name was Parvati. She did a major disappearing act once upon a time, but then she came back. I really, really hope that she hasn't just vanished from the face of the earth again and forgotten all about her big sister, who is still cooped up here in her prison Forter Castle.
You do realise that it is two weeks shy of six months since I've been in this position of confinement? I know they call a pregnancy an estimated date of confinement, but let me tell you dear, if it weren't for the most darling child on the planet, and the most patient of husbands, I do believe I would have turned into great Aunty Indira (and we both know what happened to her, don't we?)
I'm beginning to think that dearest little Nathaniel is going to grow up and never get to know his Aunty 'Vati, which is such a travesty. He's already doing more than just babbling out names, and I'm sure you'd rather he say 'Vati' before he learns to say 'Mimsy'. Right now, I'd be even willing to admit you're the prettier twin because I still have a couple of pregnancy pounds to lose just so you will be smug and write back.
Of course, if the worst happened, and you somehow died from that ghastly pox, then seriously, I will follow you into the next life and hex you back here. Of course, if your Weasley did happen to succumb to the ravages of the pox and pass on...
Do write soon, darling, for I need the distraction of scolding you for your merry ways to keep me from going mad. Theo wants us to have a bit of a 'welcome to the world' party for Nathaniel, for when we do return home. I for one can't wait, although your darling nephew might already be seventeen by the time we do leave this place.
Since I won't take silence for an answer, Akela has been ordered to not return until you reply to me. And Nathaniel just giggled and agreed with me, so you best listen to your nephew. He's a wise boy.
