Just then, as if saved by the bell, his mother came back, carrying one indignant mother and a tiny grey kitten which Selene tried to lick while still being carried. Cass chuckled.
'So the runaway is back,' he said, smirking as he took the kitten from his mother and put it in the basket, making sure to treat Selene to a scratch behind the ear.
'We should be going, mum,' he said, as he really didn't want to stay too long. Get the kittens settled at Susan's, have a bite to eat, then head home and hopefully Percy wouldn't be too late tonight.
