A loud laughter escaped him as Susan talked. 'You really do go out of your way to make Percy dislike you, don't you?' he asked, shaking his head. 'I can see him agree to kittens in the office as much as he'd agree to let us all have a week of because we've worked hard.'
He was fairly certain hell would freeze over before either happened.
When she called him daddy, he only rolled his eyes. 'Not biting any more,' he said teasingly, kissing the top of her head before leading her into the sitting room, the light room decorated with pillows and curtains in light green to match the season. As far back as he could remember, his mother had always decorated the living room according to season.
'Mum?' he called out, smiling as he pulled Susan through the room and into the large hallway, looking up the stair to see if his mother was there.
