"If you're worried Percy will find them cuter than you, then yes, you shouldn't talk them home. We shall see when we get to Linda's."
Susan was walking a little fast, but turned, her hair flipping around her face. "Shirking your fatherly responsibility already? Tut tut." She was in very good cheer, surprisingly enough. Now that Cass was well, and people around town were starting to return to normal after the pox plague, she could start to worry a little less.
"What's not exciting about a basket full of kittens that collectively will always be cuter than you, my dear?" she giggled again. "Or perhaps I'm just keen to see if your mother found any more photos with the duck. I know she was looking."
