A strange, half-smile crossed her lips. A declaration of love was not what she expected. Though out of context, it did touch her heart, and she could not help but reply, "Then let there be no words." She allowed herself to gaze for a moment longer than usual, her thumb moving up the side of the now warm metal.
Narcissa would give her husband anything he asked for, which included journeying into the unsafe and very sick world of his surroundings if required. She hoped he knew inside the depth of her willingness, as there truly was nobody else in existence that she would make such a change for. He preferred her where she was, though, and so she sighed again, fully realizing that she was not yet done hiding in shadows.
She would leave to speak to Severus, that was, if her anger drove her to overcome the fear. Snape... he did not deserve her efforts, but once again, an unpleasant little errand would lead to her family's happiness, and that is what mattered most.
"You shall never be lost," she spoke lowly, pressing the locket to her lips before closing it. Now if only their son was retrievable from such a clouded fate, perhaps Narcissa Malfoy could sleep at night.
