"We will find you dry clothes," R'ger assured her, tugging her tunic up over her head. From there, he had an excellent view of her slim arms and the feminine curves of her torso – looking after her didn't mean that he had suddenly gone blind, after all. Just that he was not the sort of man who would take advantage of a drunken woman in his weyr. Not Imogen, never Imogen. He would break all the bones of anyone who tried to hurt her; he could never be the person to hurt her, himself.
"And I think you've had enough wine for the night. We will find other ways to get you warm, my lady." It was difficult to undress her when she settled in to snuggle with him like that. Not that he was complaining; he liked the snuggling. But he needed to get her into a warm bath, and then into those dry clothes he kept talking about. One of his tunics would have to do for the night. Idly, he wondered if K'rin was doing any better with Kenzie; how had they ended up with such delightful, troublesome women?
And how had they started talking about Valiath and him being the Weyrleader, for that matter? "Gen, I do not want to be Weyrleader," he murmured, running his fingers through her dark hair to try and quiet her. "And we will not drift apart. You will Impress, and when the time comes, Shielth will fly your green quite often. I am sure of it. I know my dragon, don't I? Here now, come here and..."
Oh. No, he certainly hadn't gone blind. The bronze rider's eyes wandered for a moment, just long enough for Imogen to babble her way out of his grasp and head for the pool on her own while he stared. He managed to get a hand on her once more before she threw herself still half-dressed in the pool, and this time locked an arm around her waist. "No, no you don't." This time he used his other hand to wrangle her skirt down. "I'm going to remind you of this entire conversation in the morning, you know," he warned her, holding her tightly while he nudged his boots off and kicked them toward the door. With a sigh, he worked his own trousers off one-handed, awkwardly shuffling out of them before picking her up and walking with her into the warm water. "And I'm going to enjoy how red your face turns, my lady. Every second of it."
