“Women,” he muttered. “That seems like an extreme overreaction to a completely normal part of life here at Benden,” he added, louder so that Kenzie would hear. He drew up short and eyed the mattress, loosening his grip on Kenzie’s back and behind and rolling his eyes when she clung tighter. He managed to get her legs away from his back, turned, pushed the air from his lungs, and fell backwards, taking her bouncing weight against his ribcage. He waited a few beats and started to breathe again. She wasn’t heavy but she was all dead weight right now.
“Well, R’ger carried her off, so I’m going to assume that they will be fine. He didn’t look too overjoyed, he had his wingleader face on.” He chuckled and brushed her hair away from his face, stiffening when she shifted and a leg rubbed against his crotch. “She may get her sex after all, if he’s not too worn out. And you’ll both have amazing headaches in the morning and feel completely silly.”
