Satisfied when there was no shouted message from her blue rider relayed back to her once Prinz appeared, Kenzie turned away from the familiar place in the bowl where Valoth picked her up and chewed on her lip for a good few moments. Obviously something was going on. Something had happened. Something had upset her weyrlingmaster. The healer narrowed her dark eyes in thought, and after about a minute settled on the most likely of the things she could think of.
F'lox.
He had done something. He had finally put his big, stupid head back up his butt and said or done something so horrible that it had really upset his teacher. And Kenzie was going to throttle him for it. Why did he insist on being such a sharding fool all the time? Why did he have to interfere in her life all the time? Why couldn't he let her have just this one little thing that made her so happy? She wasn't throwing a big fit about him making big stupid googly eyes at Lyrra, was she? No. She hadn't kicked and screamed and thrown a temper tantrum when he'd abandoned her for a full turn for a big lizard, had she? No.
But she started seeing a very nice, completely respectable blue rider, and he just had to go and ruin everything.
The whole time she was thinking this, she was stalking across the bowl in the direction she thought the weyrs for the weyrlings were. At roughly the same time, she dismissed Prinz with a terse command to "find my sharding featherhead of a brother and tell him I need a ride up to see him. NOW."
