By the time Prinz returned again, Kenzie was pacing back and forth, her arms crossed over her shoulders, curls bouncing with every annoyed turn. Back and forth, back and forth. She was drawing looks now and again from those crossing the bowl, but she ignored them; they could mind their own sharding business, as far as she was concerned. This time when the little blue popped back into existence, he did not look quite so pleased with himself. He could sense his pet's irritation, and had been present for K'rin's aggravated behavior.
Valoth was always patient with him, but Prinz was a smart little flitter. He knew something was going on, even if he did not understand what. Obviously it was a human thing.
He relayed the message from the Big Blue with a little hesitation, and curled around Kenzie's neck while she absorbed it, picking up on her annoyance and her concern. He did not like it, so he curled up under her pretty blonde curls and hid, and waited.
So, she wouldn't like him right then. He wouldn't see her. Maybe tomorrow. Part of her wanted to be childish, and maybe send Prinz back with something small to chuck at the blue rider's head. If K'rin had been an arrogant rider prone to this sort of thing, she would have. Kenzie's pride was a healthy thing, and she did not like the idea of being dismissed. However. K'rin was not that sort of rider. He was always very sweet to her, and always very considerate of her. He would not just... blow her off. He had never done so before. So she nudged her wounded pride aside, and forced some more grownup thoughtfulness to the forefront of her mind.
If he wouldn't see her, then something was wrong.
After a few moments, she reached up and rubbed Prinz under the neck, soothing him until he crooned softly for her. Then she removed him from his place wrapped around her neck. "Once more, Prinz. Go back to Valoth – listen, listen. Just Valoth. Tell him to tell K'rin that I said 'all right, I will see him when he wants to see me, then'. And then tell Valoth that I said that if K'rin needs me, if he thinks K'rin needs me, to summon you and I'll come. I'll find my own way. I know plenty of riders who can bring me up there, if I need to boss one of them. You tell Valoth, and just Valoth. K'rin doesn't seem to be in the mood to be troubled with it."
It wasn't as if she was asking the blue to keep a secret; but if K'rin didn't ask, he might understand that there was no reason to tell him. Maybe. Hm.
