Security: Entries and parts of entries can be marked as "locked" to certain groups or people, so that only those people can read them. They can also be marked as "private", or for your character's eyes only, which is a nice way to let people know what's going on in your character's head without the other characters finding out. You can also mark something locked or private but "hackable", which means that a person with some reasonable computer experience might be able to hack in and discover what your character wrote.

Handles: Your character's handle is their room number in the apartment building. If they have a roommate, there will be a letter affixed after their name, which you'll see if you check the list of tenants.

Strikeouts: Strikeout text in posts is assumed to be text that was originally written, then removed. It's a great way to show what your character is thinking without them actually voicing those thoughts to the people they are talking to. For example:

Sure I'll help you clean your toilet! ~~Highlight of my day. Really.~~

Your character would see the first part of that message, but the stricken section isn't actually in the post. It's just there for characterization (and occasionally comedic) purposes. Two people could be having a perfectly courteous conversation, but the things they are deleting could make it clear they really hate each other's guts. It's a very fun tool.

Unfilled Character Etiquette: If it's key to your plot or something you're discussing to mention a character that isn't yet in the game, you can reference that character with the name of their premade in brackets. For instance, "[Aladdin] brought me cookies this morning." It is preferred that you keep mentions of characters not yet in the game to a minimum, however, so that people applying for that character don't feel obligated to seek out and match anything anyone said relating to their character in game before they even applied. If they are mentioned, please keep it vague and only to what traits are described in their premade.

Other stuff that goes here: This community is mainly for entries into the apartment building's online community. However, it is also the place to post anything communicated electronically, such as email exchanges, though you need to note in the post that that is what they are.

This is also the place to post public messages that address everyone in the building but are not online, such as fliers.
