Aaron's dog has been tied with a red leash to the banister in the lobby. There is a bow ribbon tied around it's neck, which has already been chewed into a few different pieces. Vaughn pinned a note to the leash.
I am not in a position to care for this animal.
He seems to like Kibbles n Bits & hotdogs.

Usually when Robert came back to his apartment, the lobby tended to be thankfully empty. Struggling with a guitar on his shoulder, takeout in one hand and a binder of music notes inside, he almost made it to the stairs (pointedly avoiding the elevator) without seeing the dog. Apparently it smelled the black pepper chicken and quickly made itself known, startling the musician into dropping the binder. The chicken was safe though.
If it wasn't for the obvious note on the leash, he would have expected someone to show up right away. Still, he waited a minute to keep an eye out before deciding to do something potentially stupid while the dog strained against its leash to try to greet him. Hesitantly, he inched forward, holding an empty hand out. He recalled a moment with his grandpa when he reminded him to remain calm around dogs as they could smell fear or something of the equivalent.
This one sniffed, then enthusiastically licked his fingers.
Probably could smell the food
. Taking the note, he read it over before shrugging at the dog. It was unwanted apparently. Hm. He could identify with that. Untying the leash, he looped it around his hand, picked up his dropped music and struggled the one flight upstairs, the puppy leading the way.

Tegan was trying to figure out something for dinner, having forgotten to go to the grocery store when she ventured out earlier for the locks from the hardware store. The fridge was pretty bare, and she just knew that the boys would suggest just ordering a pizza, but she was trying to keep the take-out to a minimum. They were due home any minute now, and she knew they'd be hungry.
Food was the last thing on their minds when they came through the door, though. Even James, who'd been quieter and more withdrawn the older he got, had a grin on his face, and Tommy was practically bouncing, chattering her ear off. Somewhere in the babble, Tegan managed to catch that there was a dog that someone had left in the lobby, and that it needed a good home.
The two of them practically dragged her back out to the lobby, but in the short time that it had taken them to get her, the dog had apparently been claimed. She watched as the two of them deflated, Tommy's face falling drastically, and even James looking disappointed. It pulled at something in her, and even though she knew that she shouldn't, she heard herself saying "Maybe we can find another one that needs a home."
The squeeze around her waist from Tommy nearly hurt, but it, and the kiss on her hair from James (stupid tall younger brothers), made her feel warm inside. "Now come on. Back to the apartment. You guys have to help me figure out what to have for dinner..." She herded the three of them back home, starting to think about looking up where the nearest animal shelter was.
