Idea! I has one. I'm really loving the Beatles party thread. That and something from another RPG I'm in just gave me an idea. I know a lot of games do this: the mods give all the players a prompt every so often and let them play it out in whatever variation of the prompt they wish. Just to serve as an example, in the other game, the mod proposed an age regression plot. You can choose which of your characters you would like to regress, and to what age (or you can choose not to participate at all if you don't enjoy that particular plot). I play 20-year-old Remus Lupin, who regressed to the age of ten in body but still held on to his maturity. Other players can choose to have their characters regress in mind and body, which makes for some amusing threads. That's just an example and I know we could come up with our own cool prompt ideas. We're all pretty creative here. ;) It would be a good way to keep everyone's interest and keep the muses going, right? It'd give your characters some things to get into that they may not ordinarily be able to do on their own, and you can think of how they might react in the different scenarios. The situations can be silly, serious, sad, shocking, totally wacky, etc. We could really change it up! If the majority likes the idea & Jeia is cool with it, we should totally go for it. What do you think? |

A little bg on Miami's resident serial killer - aka Dexter Morgan For those of you who don't know him, let me give you a little heads up on Dexter Morgan. He lives in Miami, he loves to eat Cuban sandwiches, and he dislikes blood, although his profession is that of a blood spatter analyst for the Miami police department. He works with his foster sister Deb, who can be very vocal, very foulmouthed and very frank about airing her opinions on any subject, especially that of Dexter! Sometimes abrasive, yet they manage to stay close. Her father Harry Morgan was Dexter's foster father. There is a great deal Dexter doesn't know about his own past. Harry was a policeman and a very good man. He saw something in Dexter, something dark, and he knew he couldn't change it, so he decided to guide it. He set up the rules that Dexter live by, the code that governs the things he does. You see, Dexter is a serial killer, and Harry saw the need to kill inside of him. So he channeled it, so that Dexter only kills bad people. And he does it right, so that he doesn't get caught. Dexter is dating Rita, who is very appropriate for him - she is a divorced mother with two young children, Cody and Astor, whose ex has scarred her so much that she fears intimacy. That is perfect for Dexter, who does not feel the need to be all that close. He is the perfect gentleman with Rita and she appreciates him for it. The children love him and he is very good with them. Now, there is a little background for Dexter. Does anyone want to play with him? I've never played him before, so I don't know how I'll do, but I want to give him a shot. I'm also considering a couple of other characters - Raylan Givens, of Justified, and Cesare Borgia of The Borgias. Any thoughts on them? Thanks! Julie |

Going out of town Hello, hello, hello! I wanted to let everyone know that I'm leaving in a couple of hours for Indiana to visit my Katie, and won't be back til late Sunday. Sunday I have to come home, get Chris, take him back to Columbia, come back and get Sarah and go to a meeting! So it will be late til you see me, and probably no replies til Monday lol I'll work on some now, I meant to start sooner, but it's Katie's fault! She texted me saying how hot Adam Ant is and got me involved in posting at Tumblr and my blog and watching videos! RP so far Just trying to stay a bit organised... Luna's in two threads and I have another one with Boromir and Faramir so far. All's good. When you're recharged, we can rp the Sirius/Luna, Julie. There was some discussion about a Sookie and Liam Noble thread. I'll began that tomorrow then? And not at all least, Kitty I know we have to rp something. At least I haven't forgotten this. Introduction. Hi! I'm Dammie! Jeia introduced me a couple of posts down- but yeah, I play the awesome Dimitri Belikov from the Vampire Academy Series (which you should all read). What else? I've been Roleplaying for 10 years, nearly. I started off in Yahoo Chat rooms and then played on private websites, LJ, GJ, DJ and IJ; I now only play on IJ or via Email/IM. Currently I play characters from the Vampire Academy Series (Richelle Mead), Twilight (Stephanie Meyer), Harry Potter (J.K Rowling), Maximum Ride (James Patterson) and The Fallen Series (Lauren Kate)- there are 18 of them at the moment, Including 3 other versions of Dimitri. But I can still be persuaded to play characters- I haven't finished my CDJ (which I apologize for), so If you'd like to know who I've played just ask, :). With my humble apologies Ladies, I must apologize for my spotty record this week in regard to replies and such. Ever since the convention, I've been ill, which has just worn me down, and I am dealing with losing my position as a reviewer at a place that I love because I am no longer acceptable, and dealing with an editor for my book who is insulting and sarcastic and can't be bothered to read the first book, and I just found out the swotty little git is all of 20 years old and I know him (under his pen name) and I once helped him! Ungrateful little dick! In any event, Sarah and I are going to a friend's house for a sleepover this afternoon and will be back tomorrow, by which time I hope to have recharged my psychic battereries so that I may begin anew. Another game, if you're interested... Hey guys! I was thinking about re-opening the other rpg I used to run (not ME, lol), The Forsaken. It kinda just petered out, but I would be happy to do it again. It was a lot of fun, and I think all of you would enjoy it. It's very relaxed as well... just has a specific premise and setting. All characters are OCs, which is totally fun. I am going to include the links, so you can check it out. If enough people are interested, I will re-open it and begin promos. The "Taken Characters" isn't accurate, obviously, as the game is closed. But if we re-open, and you played there before, you can obviously take the same characters you had. More muses drawn to the fires of rp Hi, I'm Sigi and I must confess my addiction to rp! Thanks to all of my enablers, lol. These are my muses who insist on having fun: fantastique_femLuna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch), who is a trio-era Harry Potter character of course. She wants to be 18 so I'll go with that flow and see what happens. She's working at the Quibbler post-Hogwarts. She can have out-of-time and out-of-place experiences. Being Luna, she should find it all very interesting rather than thinking she's gone mad. flight_of_museBoromir (Sean Bean) is from right after 'Fellowship of the Ring'. He thinks he's in the afterlife, no doubt. Just about any setting other than his own could be interpretted as heaven or hell or something inbetween by him. Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) comes from the point of 'Sleepy Hollow' where Katrina's stepmom sees them outside the windmill and she hides the Horseman's skull behind her back. I'm making it AU by having Ichabod get the skull then. After the Horseman returns, Ichabod vanishes into a thread with whomever wants to rp with him. Col. Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) is from after 'For a Few Dollars More', 1889. And I have an OC, Capt. Liam Noble (Ben Chaplin), a steampunk era commander of an airship. He's from Scotland and 30 years old in the year 1865. chimeless_clock Doctor Who fandomDoctor 10 (David Tennant) comes in from between 'Journey's End' and 'Planet of the Dead', during which time he'd been imprisoned by Daleks and rescued by the Thirteenth Doctor (David Bowie) and a new version of the TARDIS which is inspired by 8's steampunkish decor. we_us_oursThe Beatles lifted right from 1965 and the HELP!verse. John is 24, Paul and George are 22, and Ringo is 25. Edit 20 March '11 chance_of_valorEowyn is played from this journal, set around the time of the Houses of Healing. Another player enters the scene Greetings one and all! Late but hopefully not forgotten! Julie here! Some of you I know. Most actually, I think. I wish I could have been with you for our inaugural weekend, but I was working a convention, and I'm starting to get my brain back enough to post, so here I am! Who am I? I am many! Let's start with the person behind the curtain. I'm Julie Hayes, I'm a writer and published author (yes, bragging, don't you love it? lol) I'm a mother also, of five great kids (okay not small children any more, the youngest is almost 20). I'm currently unemployed, after being let go after 13 years of loyal service (by my brother yet, and after the release of my first book). Besides writing books and stories, I write reviews for two sites - Anime Radius and Yaoi Radius. And I work conventions - KawaKon and Bishie Con. They are located in St. Louis. This July we're having a one time 24 Hours of Harry Potter convention, and next year we're having Ecto Con - first ever Ghostbusters convention. Now for my characters - well, let me just say, I'm not sure I even remember all that I've played, but I'll do my best and if you see one you want me to take here, let me know, I love special requests, but I warn you, girls are not my forte. At the moment, I have five: Current roster: Sirius Black (Marauder Era) - the reigning sex god of Hogwarts, he is oblivious to the girls that adore him, and he isn't as vain as James, he doesn't know how gorgeous he is, and he isn't aware of Remus' feelings for him, but he does turn to Remus for everything, unconsciously, for everything. He just hasn't come to grips with his own sexuality yet, so give him time, I'm sure he will. Damon Salvatore - brother of Stefan, he's held in the grip of a fascination he can't break for a woman who doesn't deserve it (Katherine) and he has feelings for a woman he shouldn't who is the other's doppelganger (Elena) and he covers up his humanity with snarkiness and extreme sarcasm. But he has turned his feelings back on (vampires can turn them off and on, oh did I mention he is a vampire? He is, turned in 1864) and Damon does indeed have a heart, no matter how much he denies it. Lucius Malfoy (Marauder Era) - Lucius is the heir to a very rich dark wizard, Abraxas Malfoy. He is interested in diplomacy and the art of war, but not so much school work. He gets a lot of breaks for being who he is. Severus Snape is his best friend, and Crabbe and Goyle his minions. He is already a follower of the Dark Lord, and works to recruit from within Hogwarts. He and Narcissa are not a couple - yet. That will change, of course. (Don't worry, Draco, you'll be born!) Lucifer (Mike Carey graphic novels) - Lucifer left Hell of his own accord, by his choice. He came to Earth and he can be found in LA - he has his own club called Lux, and he plays piano there. And he has his faithful follower, the scarred, tough as nails Mazikeen. So... I've been meaning to post this for a few days but kept forgetting. Has anyone read any of the Vampire Academy books? I would love, love, LOVE to play Rose Hathaway or Dimitri Belikov. I can play either, against the other, or with Lissa Dragomir (who is Rose's best friend, if you haven't read the books). I have been dying to play them out for months, ever since I finished the series. And, if you haven't read the books, read them. I highly recommend them to all of you guys, as I know your tastes are very similar to mine. :D Over and out, Jeia |
