What: Seeing each other after her reappearance
When: Week 2, May 16th - evening
Where: On the path near the gardens
The weather wasn't terrible by any means, and Cody could all too easily imagine far worse to be caught in at the moment. As he left the gardens with (not terribly full) armfuls of vegetables and herbs, limited though they were, he considered what he might make for dinner or what may be in store for them that week. There were plenty of things on his mind, always in the midst of other thoughts even if he were participating in conversation. The others here offered companionship, though the friendships ventured anywhere from vague attachments to downright dependencies, and Cody found himself wandering in the middle of it all. He didn't know what to think of some of the people he spent every day with, what to do with himself when arguments were stirred up or drama was raised. He wanted only to see everybody safe and content, and knew that since he would never find it for himself, that he would at least try to guide others to that point. It was perhaps a little misguided, but Cody's intentions were nothing but the best.
He had his downfalls as well, like any man, but when so much had gone wrong so fast, he couldn't help himself but put aside anything other than selflessness -- most days, anyway. Right now, Cody couldn't have imagined himself doing anything but trying to prepare for dinner. He had picked up a task and had set his mind to it, and giving up this position would be like prying a dead man's hands off of a steering wheel. It was where he had directed his efforts, and Cody wouldn't be shaken off of it, not by anything.
