since i don't really like the taste of alcohol, which type of liquor is strong, but doesn't have an overpowering taste? like gin, vodka, rum, etc... just outta curiosity. also, tips for learning how to drink and not cringe/gag after you do a shot? haha :[

so, im going to attend college next year, & i went on a tour today at the college I'd like to go to. its only like 20 minutes from where i live, but i think it would be SOO much of a better experience if i lived on campus! :DD it seems like i would get to meet more people, and be involved more. :/ however, it is a lot more expensive, and i DO live close enough to drive every day.
my mom said no way is she paying for me to live on campus, and i told her i could just take out student loans to pay for it. She told me taking out loans is a waste of money and ill just be in debt for years to come.
what is your opinion? :// how many of you took out student loans? do they suck, how long will you be paying them off?
also, who lives on campus at your college? do you think its worth it, or would you rather live close to home if you could to save a a few thousand dollars?

Hey guys, I'm juliet. Many of you are here for the same reason I am. I have been a "greatestjournal" user since I was in 7th grade and now that I have to accept the fact that it is no longer working effectively, I decided to make an insanejournal. I made an insanejournal in 8th grade but neglected it terribly and eventually stopped using it completely. Now that I'm on here I am very unfamiliar with the way that it all works.
I don't know anyone besides one friend from gj so I would greatly appreciate it if you are looking for friends to add me!

so my fish died this morning and i'm pretty devastated. honestly, i don't know how to explain it to you without sounding like a total weirdo but i grew extremely attached to him. he made a lot of nights much less lonely. i'm not really interested in getting another fish and i've already had my fair share of hermit crabs. i really want a pet that i can play with, one that walks around and shit. right now it's between a parakeet and a rabbit. my mom won't let me get a hamster or a guinea pig, unfortunately. and i already have four dogs and four cats so they're definitely not an option. i've read up lots on both pets but i'm looking for personal experiences. so i have a few questions.
to anyone who has ever had a parakeet...
do they really shit everywhere all the time?
are their cages hard to clean?
is there any way to get them to stop chirping during the night?
do they stink really bad?
anything "special" i should know?
to anyone who has ever had a rabbit...
do they stink really bad?
how hard is it to clean their cages/what do i need to do/etc.?
how bad is it for them to go outside sometimes? not like run wild but if i'm playing with it outside for a little bit, is that ok?

to anyone else in general...
if you had to pick between a parakeet and a rabbit, which would you pick and why?
any other pets that you think would be good for me?
i just don't want to be lonely. but i want something relatively easy to take care of and i have no life so loving it won't be a problem at all. thank you for any help you can give me.

How much is their hourly wage and more importantly, do the tips make up for the "loss of dignity" that comes with working there (strictly from a money/financial view, was it worth it)?
