He wanted Valentine's day to be good. After all the crap that had gone down the past few months William wanted dearly to make it up to Brendan. So he'd given Carson 50 bucks and told the man to entertain himself for the night and that he was welcome back in the house anytime after 10pm. God, it was like they had a teenager living with them. After he'd gotten the man out he'd scurried about the place, getting things ready. He'd sent Brendan on an errand for champagne and while he was gone only had a small window of time to set the house up. So he covered the table in a dark red, silky table cloth. In the middle of it was a vase filled with blooming red roses. He heated up the dinner he'd made throughout the day and while Brendan knew that they were having a special dinner that night William was hoping to surprise the man with the aesthetics of it all.

So after setting up a bit of mood lighting (candles on the table and the living room lamp turned down so it was nearly off, and making sure the table was set and ready for his lover's return he sat down on the couch and waited, Trinket jumping up into his lap, let little tail wagging. Thankfully William only needed a cane to walk around and that was only when they were going long distance or up stairs. Around the house he was pretty good with walking, which was going to make this Valentine's day a whole hell of a lot easier.

Brendan hadn't meant to tear up while in the liquor store, but he did. Staring at all the champagne bottles, the heart decorations, everything, he just felt himself get weepy all of a sudden and put his hand over his mouth to hide a slight frown, brows furrowing as he fought the tears. It was just so much stress built up, so much pain over the last few months, and now he was buying champagne for a nice dinner in? He took a breath. He wasn't going to be the mess in aisle three, thank you. He needed to have this nice dinner, he really did. He just wanted to feel wanted for a bit. Brendan wasn't usually needy, but he had been forced to be every step of the way this relationship. And he just wanted to be wanted. And even with William being better about that, he still had months of having his ego worked over like a punching bag. But, he had faith that William would make it up to him. Somehow, the man would.

Grabbing a bottle, he took a breath and headed to the check out, smiling for the woman at the cash. They chatted a bit, her asking if he had special plans, him saying just a dinner at home, and sharing hope that she had some hot sex lined up. She said she hoped the same for him with a smile, and he felt better. He took the champagne, blew her a kiss, and was off.

Getting home, he pulled out his keys and unlocked the door, having taken to locking it when he went out now because of Carson. He kicked off his shoes and the smell of the candles hit him as he furrowed his brow, "William?" He called as he unzipped his coat and walked into the living room, seeing the lights turned down and his lover on the coach. He smiled faintly and drew his eyebrows together, "Hey you," He noticed the effort, alright. The aesthetics. And he felt himself tearing up again. This time for a good reason.

"I got the champagne."

Trinket was instantly distracted by Brendan walking in the room and jumped off of William's lap, padding over to sit at Brendan's feet, tail wagging. With the dog on the ground and no longer on his lap William stood up and brushed off his pants. He was wearing jeans and a button up baby blue shirt that had the first few buttons undone. Seeing Brendan with the champagne he smiled a bit and stepped over to his lover, gently nudging the dog away with his foot as he leaned in to press a kiss to Brendan's cheek.

"Good. Now we can have dinner." Smirking, he gently took the bottle from his lover's hand and made his way into the kitchen to get the food out and everything else set up.

	Brendan placed a hand on William's arm when the man kissed his cheek, leaning to it, smiling more, "Good," He replied, watching the man walk away with a shake of his head with disbelief, "Huh," He followed along after his lover, and his face lit up more at the sight of the table. 	"I was hoping you'd like it. I made us chicken and pasta." He got the food out of the microwave and walked back over to the table. Serving up some on each of the plates he set the serving dish itself on a hot pad and then went to get the salad to put out. Once that was taken care of he turned toward his lover, pulling out a chair and motioning. "Sit down." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Pushing Brendan's chair in a bit William moved to get the champagne from where he'd left it on the counter. He popped it open and poured some into the glass near Brendan's plate, before pouring some into his own, setting the bottle on the table. Then he moved, once he was sure everything was good, to sit down across from his lover. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Brendan just watched the man, the same little pleasantly surprised smile on his face. William was really trying. Really trying. Brendan would have been happy with the man cooking dinner, really, but this. This was amazing.

"Thank you, baby," He said when the man poured him some champagne, and he waited for him to sit, "This looks so good, William. Everything does."

	Brendan grinned, "I do. I really do, baby. Thank you," He rubbed the man's foot with his own and enjoyed his meal for a bit before he thought of something, "What on Earth did you do with Carson, anyway?" 	Glad to hear Brendan was mad at him for sending Carson off (he had worried it would have come off far too harsh) he smiled a bit and seemed more at ease. 	Brendan was a tad worried Carson would get hurt again, that Dylan would do something, but he had to try and just trust that Carson would be okay to enjoy the evening with William. 	Brendan had a little giggle for that, looking down and away, shaking his head a bit still at how great this was. How great William was.
