Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Emily, Sean, Rebecca, Evan
Where: Club! Woo!
When: Late night
What: Dancing, at the very least!
Rating: TBD, probably R for their potty mouths.

Evan was right. It had been a good idea to go out. Being dumped made a girl forget that there were still other men out there who found her attractive. Emily had gotten herself all made up for the occasion. She slipped into a form-fitting outfit she hadn't worn out since before she and Gabe had gotten back together, wore her hair down, put her water-proof make-up on, and was plenty excited to hit the town.

She hadn't been in the club for long when she had been offered her first drink, which she politely refused. She had a feeling sobriety was a good idea for the evening she had ahead of her, so it was all water for her.

"Let's dance!" she called to Sean over the music, offering a smile to Evan as she dragged his best friend off to the dance floor.

Sean, meanwhile, offered his buddy a shrug, and a look that quite clearly read he wasn't responsible for his actions, allowing himself to be pulled along until they reached the mob of people, moving together to the beat.

Evan took a sip of his drink-- thankfully it was strong because he wasn't sure how much of this night he could take. Since they'd been there, a number of men had eyed Emily and Rebecca quite hungrily and it wasn't really something he was okay with. Call him protective, call him unreasonably jealous, call him whatever. He just didn't like it.

"Oy." He was started to pick up his girlfriend's phrases. "This place is bloody packed. Let's dance, huh?" He grabbed her hand and pulled her out onto the dance floor, making sure to find a spot nicely in view of his best friend and ex girlfriend. They were dancing a little too close for his comfort and even though he told Sean it was alright, it certainly was not.

"Think they'll fuck tonight?" He jerked his head in Sean's direction.

Rebecca kindly ignored anyone who was looking at her because she was there with Evan. They were dating now and when that sort of thing happened Becca tended to be very loyal. So, keeping her focus on Evan (even if he was less than focused on her) she found herself amused to hear he'd picked up a bit of her slang.

"Aye, luv. My slang comin' from your pretty mouth is quite something'." She pointed out, laughing as he pulled her out onto the dance floor. Of course she noticed that the position allowed them both a nice view of Sean and Emily but she hadn't been expecting the question.

"To be honest with ya luv? I don't give a rat's ass. Only thing I care 'bout is if we'll be shaggin' tonight."

Emily had never been a particularly timid girl. When she spent a night on the town, she had a good time. She let her hair down, she flirted, and she danced the way no proper lady would. It didn't matter that he was Evan's best friend, just as it wouldn't have mattered if he was a complete stranger. Emily was pressing up against him, and Sean certainly didn't mind, until he noticed Evan glancing over.

"I think he's watching," he said to her over the music.

Emily glanced up, having been oblivious, to see Evan nearby. "You think?"

Sean laughed. "Are you surprised?"

Emily quirked a brow at him. "It's not like we're... You know."

Again, Sean laughed. "Have a little more faith in me, will you? Taking home your best friend's ex is a shitty thing to do, even in the world of men."

She grinned back at him. "You really think it would upset him that much?"

"Have you met Evan?" Emily grinned broadly, letting out a bright laugh.

"He brought his girlfriend here. He's not allowed to be jealous." Sean gave her a look that clearly read 'Yeah right', before Emily finally turned around and succeeded in distracting him.

Evan noticed them looking and quickly looked down at his girlfriend. Fleeting thoughts wondering what they were talking about flashed through his mind. This was such a terrible idea. Why did he have to mention Sean? And why did Emily have to insist that Rebecca come?

"What?" He hadn't listened to Rebecca talk or answer his question.

The only reason Rebecca was there was because Evan had insisted. She was painfully aware of his continuing feelings for Emily and hadn't wanted to get in the way of his leering. Yet that is exactly what she was doing, even if she hid her frustration with him, just moving to the steady beat of the music.

"Nothin', mate." Back to 'mate' it was, then. At least for the time being until Evan actually started really treating her like his girlfriend. She glanced back at Emily, trying to catch the other girl's gaze because it would probably be more fun to dance with her than it was to dance with Even right then. At least Emily seemed to have everything together.

It took Emily a while to look up, but when she did, she found herself looking straight back at Evan's girlfriend. She quirked a brow at her, grinning broadly as she was gestured to come over. "Sean, I do believe you've been replaced," she told the boy behind her, who looked confused. When she looked over toward the pair, Sean assumed- wrongly- that she meant to dance with Evan.

Emily weaved through the small distance toward Rebecca, moving up next to her. "Show the boys who's boss?" she offered, grinning.

Sean suddenly seemed much more chipper at this idea.

As did Evan. It allowed two very attractive women to move closely together-- sweat, touching... it was all very good in Evan's mind.

"I'll just get some drinks then. Don't get too...grabby without me, alright ladies?" And with a grin, he was off only to return very quickly later with two drinks in his hand.

Neither were for Sean, though. They were both for him. He was going to need it. Downing one, he gave a cheeky wink to the cute girl standing next to him before moving his gaze back over to his former and current girlfriends.

One word sprang to his mind: hot.

Glad Emily had taken the cue Rebecca easily turned toward the other girl and began dancing with her, moving more to the beat. She was completely ignoring both Sean and Evan, uninterested in them both for the moment. Instead she was studying Emily, unable to help the smile that passed across her lips.

"Heard this was your idea, yea?"

Emily blinked. "My idea?" she asked, brows raising. "No, it was Evan's. Apparently I need to get out more." She left out the whole spending the night part of the story. "I just um-" She cleared her throat. "I just split up with someone, so he's probably right." The good mood she was in suddenly faded at the memory of Gabe, and she ahd to struggle to force a smile.

Sean's gaze shifted to Evan momentarily. "This is kinda weird, huh? Your ex and girlfriend together?" His head tilted to the side slightly as he looked to the girls again. "But hot. Good plan bringing them both along."

"Think I can get them both to come home with me?" Evan asked, quirking an eyebrow as he raised his drink to his lips once more. It tasted like water. A sheer sign that Evan was starting to get used to the taste on his tongue. Fuck.

"This shit isn't strong enough."

Sean rolled his eyes. "No, but you might get one if you would chill the fuck out." He had seen the way Evan had been watching them dance earlier, and he was pretty sure Bex had seen it, too. Not a good thing. "Let's get another drink then, pretty boy."

"Lead the way," Evan said, holding his hand out in front of him. "And what do you mean 'chill the fuck out'?" He frowned. "Quite frankly, I think I'm dealing well, watching the girl I love dance with the guy I trust with my life. I mean, it wouldn't bother me as much if you two weren't canoodling with your body movements."

He was a wreck.

"It's just dancing, Evan," he said, sighing as he put some money down on the bar. "Trust me, nothing's going to happen." He slid a shot to Evan and kept one for himself. "She is a fucking hot dancer though, God damn." He tossed the liquor back with only the slighest grimace, sliding the shot back to the bartender with a smirk. "Did you really just say we were canoodling with our body movements? What the fuck are you on?"

"I wish I was on something stronger than this cheap ass alcohol. What is this?" He looked at the shot in his hand before tossing it back like a sport. It burned on its way down. "I mean. I don't know what the fuck I was thinking, asking her to come here. Or even bringing Rebecca. Or even...asking Rebecca to be my girlfriend when I'm still clearly hung up on Em." He ran his hand through his hair and frowned.

Sean laughed and gave Evan a rough pat on the back. "That's a good question. Wasn't she giving you enough sex while she was pretending to be your girlfriend? Why'd you have to go and make it official? That just makes things messy." He slid another shot his way. "As for bringing Emily out here, pretty damn stupid idea. I think you were trying to play the good guy card. You know the whole I can take you out and make you feel better crap." He took the next shot. It was easier than the first. "That tends to put you in the friend zone." He smirked at the term. "And unless benefits is added to friends which it won't be because you fucked up and started dating someone, I don't see a whole hell of a lot of good coming out of this adventure of yours."

"This is so...confusing. What the fuck am I supposed to do?" He was lost. Rapping his knuckles on the bar, he gave the bartender a look that clearly said 'fill me up'. He slapped a Benjamin on the counter and watched as several shot glasses began to be filled in front of him.

"Cheers, mate."

Sean's brows shot up as the bartender started pouring, eventually gesturing for the bartender to stop as the number started to get a bit ridiculous. Evan wouldn't know how many he'd had at some point anyway, especially if he planned on downing all of those.

"Cheers," he said hesitantly, spotting Emily and Rebecca heading in seperate directions. "Looks like the lovers split up," he remarked with a chuckle as Emily spotted the pair of them, but headed for the restroom instead. "Ah well, all good things must come to an end."

"Oy. Have one of these, and go distract Bex for a minute, will you? Bring her one, for all I care. I just want to talk to Em for a second, alright?"

He downed another shot, before picking up two and walking towards the restroom. He wasn't planning on drinking them both. He'd give one to the girl, if she wanted it.

"Em?" He pushed open the girl's bathroom with his foot. He wasn't really in any position, at that point, to be quiet or reserved about entering forbidden territory. A few ladies went scampering out, to which Evan nodded his head respectfully. Still, this didn't stop him. He walked right inside.

Sean rolled his eyes, and downed the shot before going to track down Evan's girlfriend. This was one fucked up wingman job.

Emily was adjusting her make-up when she heard an all to familiar voice. She let out a soft sigh, and was about to go out of the restroom when, much to her surprise, Evan strolled right in. "Evan!" she hissed. "You can't be in here!" Her hands moved to his chest and she pushed him out, earning a few smirks from women as she exited with him.

"Evan, what are you doing?" she asked, frowning at him and the two shots in his hands.

Emily set her glass down on the ledge next to his without drinking it. "How many of those have you had?" she asked, eyeing him warily. She had a feeling they were in for a role reversal from the other night at her place, and if she remembered correctly, Evan was a much worse drunk than she was.

"Enough." That was all she needed to know. He was actually starting to feel a bit ill. It didn't happen often; being friends with David and Sean had definitely helped his alcohol tolerance. But, he'd downed them all so quickly...his stomach just wasn't going to be able to handle it.

"Anyways. What are you doing with Sean?"

Emily didn't like the sound of that, but she hoped that 'enough' at least meant that he wouldn't be having anymore. He was probably going to hate himself enough the next day without making it any worse.

"What am I doing with Sean?" she asked, brows furrowing. "I was dancing with Sean, and I hope you're not suggesting that I'd do anything else, Evan. He's your best friend. Give me a little more credit, will you?" Though Sean was kinda hot, to be fair.

"You should have some water, Ev," she said gently.

"Oh. Sorry ta hear that, luv." Rebecca smiled kindly at her as they danced together. There was a pause as she contemplated what she wanted to say before, "you know Evan is still pinin' for you, yeah?" Of course it hurt a little to actually admit her findings but she couldn't just pretend that Evan was into her. She would have been find being his pretend girlfriend but now he'd gone and asked her to be his real girlfriend and that had made things different in her mine.

Becca expected to be treated like a girlfriend. Not just a filler. Perhaps if she got Emily to consider Evan again, though, then she could put this whole thing behind her.

Emily hesitated at her words. Sure, Evan had been pretty blatant about his affections, but she'd never heard it from anyone other than Evan himself, and she'd always attributed it to him just being ridiculous. She'd never considered the fact that he honestly had genuine feelings. "Pining? I don't think so. I think he's just got his sights set on the one that got away. He dumped me, you know. It was all his doing. Got bored and moved on to a skinnier bitch with a bad dye job." And she wasn't bitter about it. Nope, not at all.

"I'm quite sure he is in love with ya, mate." Rebecca insisted with a sigh. "To be honest I'm startin' ta wish he'd not asked me to be 'is girlfriend." There was a sense of resignation and acceptance in her tone. "When we were pretendin' things were easier."

Emily frowned. "Don't say that. Evan's a good guy, he just... is kinda stupid sometimes." She forced a small smile for her. "He has a lot of really shitty moments, for sure, but when he's good, he's really good, you know? He can be really thoughtful and sweet when he wants to be. Don't give up on him."

"Aye I won't but I also don't want to get between you two. If you ever want to get back together with him just tell me." Becca wanted to make sure that point was solid. That she would step down because she was only Evan's second choice.

Emily cleared her throat at her words, stopping in her movements. "Um. Excuse me," she said softly, brushing past her toward the edge of the crowd. She didn't want to be Rebecca's Alena, even if Rebecca claimed to be okay with it. Sure, she and Evan weren't exactly in love like Emily had been with Gabe, but she knew it woudl still hurt. She could tell by the look on her face.

Now Rebecca was left alone in a throng of strangers. With a scoff she pushed her way through the crowd and headed out one of the back doors where there were people standing around smoking. The young woman didn't like smoking all that much but right then she could really use one and asked a rather tall, lanky guy for a cigarette and a light.

He passed one over and lit it for her and Rebecca moved to lean against the wall, inhaling and exhaling the nicotine.
