Who: Eddie Loke and Alena Alkeinos
What: "MELANIE BROWN ROCKS AT AIR HOCKEY!"
Where: Eddie's house
When: Wednesday late afternoon around 5 pm
Rating: PG-13 for possible language?

She had gotten off of work early today seeing as the shop had been pretty slow, even for a Wednesday, and it was around four that her father had just told her to go home. This was perfectly fine with Alena seeing as today had been the day he chose to corner her and bitch her out just as she had been waiting for him to do. She knew it had been coming, but as Alena stood there in the office listening to Alvin, Sr. go on and on about how she needed to get her act together and start taking responsibility for herself she nearly lost it. All that had happened in the past few months, and his children's involvement in such, nearly came spilling out. Superpowers, teams, kidnappings, tortures, rescues, deaths - everything. Often able to rationalize what was going on around her, things lately had been taking their toll on the precognitive. It would have done no good even if she didn't keep herself together, that last thing she needed was her father thinking she was babbling about nonsensical things because of a manic phase. That sort of thing usually had unfavourable outcomes.

Her plan for the night had been to get off and grab Gabe before going to bed, but her father had so nicely asked (read: demanded) that she drop off some things by his house. He was to be going out of town at the end of next week for a convention and wanted to make sure that his tattooing machines were up to speed before such. Raising no complaints, even though she surely wanted to, she had begrudgingly dragged the three machines into her childhood home and up to what had once been her bedroom that now served as his study. The house was empty except for her mother cooking in the kitchen. Knowing that she would have later been further bitched out if she didn't at least say hello to her mother Alena slumped into the kitchen. Twenty minutes later and lots of nitpicking on Yvette's behald found the middle Alkeinos walking back out to her car in an even more pissed off mood with a tupperware container filled with stuffing. The fuck am I supposed to do with a goddamned shitfucking thing of stuffing? It's not fucking Thanksgiving! An idea suddenly snapped into her head as she looked down at the container her hands.

Getting into her car she set the stuffing in her passenger seat and started up her car. Pulling out of her parent's driveway she turned left, the opposite direction of where her own apartment lay. It didn't take long to drive to her destination and she was soon walking up that familiar sidewalk with the stuffing in front of her like she was presenting a Christmas hen. To Alena's knowledge Eddie had never locked a door a day in his life and as such she didn't bother to knock but simply made her way inside. "Eddie?" She called out as she took the container in one hand and bent down to take off her Doc Martens. The lining of her shoes was starting to tear and she feared it was about time to get some more. Dropping the shoes next to the door her mix matched socks would find their way furhter into his house as she peered around a corner into the kitchen to find it empty. "Want some stuffing?" Yelling again she turned around to make her way towards the door to the basement peering down to see if that's where he was. "Cause I freakin' have some." Years of experience had brought Alena to the conclusion that it was much easier to get some of that patented Eddie Loke fortune cookie advice when he was well fed.

Upon opening the door to the basement, the sound of a repetitive clicking would immediately be audible. Eddie looked up from the game of air hockey that he'd decided to play by himself when the door opened, leaning so as to look up the stairwell at her, "Hey! How ya do-!" His greeting was interrupted by a louder click, succeeded by the familiar sound an air hockey table makes as the puck is dispensed to the bottom after a goal has been scored, "Ah, man!" Eddie looked dejected, sighing heavily in exasperation as he took the puck from the slot on the side of the table and tossed it onto its surface. He flicked the switch controlling the air to the 'off' position and headed towards Alena. He had heard her mention stuffing, and even if he'd been getting pretty damn good at air hockey the past few days, he was willing to take a break for stuffing. Well, for Alena, too.

Although if she hadn't brought stuffing, he'd have insisted that she play a game against him. There'd be time for that later, he assured himself, heading up the stairs with his usual springy step. Boucing around tirelessly might have been unusual for a man Eddie's age, but even before this regeneration crap, Ed was pretty much void of all aging pains. It was due to a good diet of a) anything edible he could get his hands on and b) tons and tons of weed and c) hanging around with a bunch of 20 year olds. Or at least he USED to hang out with a bunch of 20 year olds. They'd been a little hard to find lately. Eddie wasn't used to being in the house alone, it had never been as quiet as it had been lately. If Marlie wasn't home, he could usually count on Gabe or Alena or Abbey or someone still hanging around, but ... yeah. Things were different these days.

He reached the landing ruffling Alena's hair as he did so, as though she might be all of eleven years old, "Better be some pretty good stuffing, kid, you cost me a game against the champ." He flashed her a toothy grin and steered her towards the kitchen. The champ, of course, was Marlie's old Scary Spice barbie that he had wedged into the opposite goal. "So," he began, leaning his hip against the counter and crossing his arms casually in front of his chest, "How've you been, kiddo?"

"Who's the reigning champ today? Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby or Posh? I heard Posh has been vying for the title." Alena said matter of factly while smiling widely as Eddie touseled her hair. It was no secret that Marlie's long forgotten Spice Girl barbies had become his arch nemesis once he realized their possible application as an air hockey opponent. "Don't worry, I didn't make the stuffing, my mom did. It should be edible and appetizing." She wasted no time in making her way back towards his kitchen and grabbing a fork out of his utensil drawer, shoving it closed with her hip, before holding both the container and the fork out towards him. Stuffing wasn't her really thing and she had actually gone shopping last night, sadly she had not been allowed to get her beloved Steak-Ums because Gabe had some notion that eating fruits and veggies was good for you, and as such had a Cup O Noodles at her apartment with her name on it.

When Eddie took her offerings she laced her fingers together before resting her open palms on the back of her neck, avoiding that question for a moment as she tried to think of a reasonable answer. Those chocolate brown eyes coming to rest on her elbows as she touched them together in front of her. "Sucky," Alena decided to not go with her usual evasive manuvers today. This was also mainly due to the fact of who exactly she was talking to. She had known Eddie since she was seven and in the past sixteen years had come to see him alot more than just her piano teacher or one of her closest friend's dad, she saw him as a second dad. It still amazed her how Marlie had gotten such cool parents while she had been born to the hard ass Chilean that could knock your block off and the anal retentive Russian that was just a little too tightly wound.

She looked back up at the older man and continued to speak in the slightly distorted voice due to the fact that her forearms were pressing against her cheeks. "I'm sure you heard about... yeah." Everyone had heard about it by now and Alena was sure that he was included in everybody. Taking a deep breath she started talking at a rushed pace. "So... I saw someone die and then nearly got another person killed while simultaneously being mindfucked myself, all because I can't shut my mouth, but then I didn't die. Supposedly my brain was like fried or something so I spent x amount of days unconcious in the lighthouse basement before waking up to find that Gabe was there. Oh yeah, we had like a telepathic convo while I was out, because now he can actually talk to people in their heads instead of just wheedling his way around. And then I kissed Gabe... and he kissed me back... and then he said he loved me... and I said it back... and then he ended up breaking with Emily. And I came back to my house after being at the lighthouse and found that it had been broken into and somebody stole like my hard drives and all of my sketches and I probably have fucked everyone over because they incriminate pretty much all of us with powers. So Gabe came over and ended up asking me out and then I slept with him and he's been staying at my house. We hadda exorcise my couch because it was haunted by a perverted British spirit that likes to eat my strawberry Lip Smackers and my cat Blow Job and it was... it just... it wasn't good." Catching her breath for a moment she continued on. "And then today at work my dad bitched me out and told me I need to become more responsible and that I need to grow up, oh and Amy disowned me and Lucy is like spiraling downwards into insanity, and has a sister, and Junior is avoiding me. ...I'm just kinda stressed, yanno?"

Biting the inside of her lower lip she'd peer back down at her elbows, tapping them together. "So... how're you?"

"Scary's got her game on today, so better luck to Posh tomorrow," Eddie responded, taking the stuffing from her. "And hey, your cooking's not so bad! Practice makes perfect, don't give up. You're gonna end up with kids to feed someday, so you may as well be prepared, right?" Eddie pointed his fork in her direction as another man might wag his finger so as to make a point, and then, having done that, he dug into his stuffing with vigor. Man. There was nothing on Earth better than stuff. Food-wise, anyway.

Alena began her rant, and he alternately looked from her to his food, nodding as he ate. It was a hell of a lot of information to digest, and Ed was glad that he had something to eat as he listened. Otherwise, he might have just stared at her blankly. Food definitely inspired Eddie's brain to turn its wheels way more energetically than they'd normally be turning. He felt pretty bad for all of the kids these days, but he felt almost extra bad for Allie. All of the kids were wrapped up in something that Eddie wished that they weren't, but Alena was the only one who felt like she was the cause of it. And beyond that, her parents were badgering her without really knowing what was going on and there was that usual boy situation and -- man. Alena was a hell of a lot more complicated than his Marlie, but then again, she always had been. As surprising as all of this information was to him, Eddie barely looked phased, mostly because he was going to ask her to explain each point in greater detail.

"Yeah, yeah, I can imagine," he remarked once she stopped rambling, then cleared his throat, "And I'm pretty good." Pausing, he took shovelled another bite of stuffing into his mouth, then Eddie met her eyes expectantly and chewed and swallowed what food he had in his mouth, raising his eyebrows, "Where do you wanna start?"

Alena just snorted loudly. "Yeah, me... kids. That's totally gonna happen. God, help us all if that day ever arrives..." She couldn't really even imagine herself taking care of another being on such a base level, hell she couldn't even take care of herself half most of the time.

Twisting her lips as Eddie said he was doing pretty good, she'd almost sheepishly look up at him. "Uhhhhh..." Where the fuck could one start with all of that. "I really dunno." Shrugging she continued to knock her elbows against each other. "I think that when it comes down to it, I just really wanted to blurt that out at somebody and see if they like laughed or hadda... I dunno, friggin' panic attack or..." A pensive look took over Alena's face as she tried to think of words, really anything to say than the blank she was drawing. It wasn't that she couldn't think, more along the lines of she was overthinking this all- obsessing over it. "Or at least at somebody else other than Gabe." She spoke slowly as she then took to chewing her lip once more.

"He says it doesn't bother him when I start ranting about this all or freaking out, but it's gotta bother him- I'm getting on my own fucking nerves with all of this. If it's not a nightmare, it's me freaking out over my stuff that got stolen, or Junior avoiding me, or Amy saying it should have been me that died, or just... everything. I don't see how he hasn't like strangled me or something yet." Unlacing her fingers Alena would hold them in front of her, watching as she chipped at her nail polish. "I'm happy when I'm with him- he makes me happy, but I hate the fact that I'm being so GD crazy. I'm ready to get over all of this, seriously, I am. I know I can't go back and I can't change what happened, but I don't see why I still have to obsess over it. I was supposed to die, but I didn't- end of story. I was supposed to die, and Angie was supposed to die and Cookie... did die. I don't know why I can't just accept that those are the facts. Just keep getting so wound up, so fucking stressed and then I just snap!" Alena opened her hands up in a jerky movement with that last word, before letting them fall to her sides. "I nearly beat Alec over the head with a broom stick and then nearly shoved a water bottle down his throat, because he made a joke that I'm a witch. Like what the fuck? I know I've got a bad temper... but what the fuck!? I'm not that volatile... usually."

Bringing a hand to rub down the side of her face she'd groan. "And I yet again find myself going on with this self-pity shit... GRRR!" Brushing her hair behind her ear she crossed her arms over her chest. "...and I'm sorry I'm unloading this all on you, Eddie, I just... I really couldn't go back to my apartment and put on a big smile while having this all fucking squirming around in my head."
