Who: Emily Cauldwell and Alena Alkeinos
What: Shit's about to go down! A chance encounter
Where: Gas station
When: Sunday night
Rating: TBD

She looked like shit, but it was apparent by that giant grin on her face that she really didn't care. This was the first time Alena had ventured out of her apartment since getting home Thursday night. Coincidentally Thursday night was also the night that Gabe had first come over to her apartment after she called him freaking because her apartment had been broken into. He still hadn't left her apartment except to go to work the night before. The only reason she had actually decided to make this trek was due to the fact that she'd called Lenny about procuring some weed and realized she was out of rolling papers, plus she really needed some Advil. Somehow she'd hurt her left hip and if she put weight on it for too long she feared that it might fall off.

There was the slightest limp in her walk as she entered the gas station and made a beeline to the small aisle that contained a random assortment of things including but not limited to: hot dog buns, cereal, energy bars, condoms and ibeprofen. Bringing a hand out to grab the travel sized bottle she'd lift those black framed glasses, that she was supposed to wear more often, off of the bridge of her nose and squinted down at the miniscule lettering. Content with the fact that they hadn't added cyanide or anything to the ingredients list, Alena would hobble her way up to the counter, calculating in her head how much this was going to cost. In the end she just ended up reaching into her bra and pulled out the twenty she'd put in there when she left her apartment, her hand brushing up against that quarter of weed that was also residing there. She paid for her Advil and a pack of rolling papers before stuffing them both into the pocket of Gabe's hoodie that she'd thrown on when she left her apartment, it went so well with her bright yellow pyjama pants and that messy up-do.

As she stepped back outside and made her way back over to her car she wasn't focused on the fact that in the course of the past three days her apartment had been found broken into, her sister had pretty much disowned her, her delightful conversation with Dylan or even the fact that Evan Elkins had tried to bitch her out via text messages. The only thing she cared about was going back to her place and getting completely baked and fooling around with-- Emily Cauldwell!? Alena stopped dead in her tracks as right there before her was none other than as of recently her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend. Standing perfectly still she wondered if by chance the blond wouldn't see her when she realized Emily was looking directly at her. Maybe if she ran away really fast and just pretended that she hadn't just seen who she had actually has just seen... Or maybe she could pretend to faint, it worked in It Takes Two... kinda sorta.

"H-hey Emily? How's it... going?" The words seem to leave her lips of their own accord and she began to mentally curse herself, wondering if it was too late to run away yet.

There were some things a girl just didn't want to see when she was making a run to the grocery store. On the top of that list was her newly made ex-boyfriend, and just below him was the skank who had gotten together with him not even twenty-four hours after they had split up. Alena's status with Emily wasn't quite so low as it was with Gabe only because Alena hadn't been the one to tell her 'I love you'. Alena hadn't been the one who had said the idea of 'Emily Sherlock' was a happy one. Alena hadn't been the one who made such a scene out of chosing her over someone else because they weren't healthy for them... and then gotten back together with her months later.

No, Alena was just a stupid girl who was in love with a boy. Of course, she had broken some pretty cardinal rules of being female, namely that you don't steal someone else's boyfriend, and if you did, you were certainly supposed to feel guilty about it. The gleeful look on her face clearly told otherwise.

She had stared her down as she entered the gas station, her car filling up as she leaned against it with her arms crossed. This was what Gabe had said was better than her: a girl who walked around publically in heinously yellow pajama pants and- her heart gave a painful throb as she realized- one of her boyfriend's sweatshirts. She had tattoos, and she did drugs, and she was completely fucking insane most of the time, and that was what Gabe wanted. Emily had a 4.0. She ran on her college's track team, and had next to no emotional issues. She didn't do drugs, she didn't threaten people with bodily harm over minor infractions, and she would certainly never walk outside in blindingly yellow pajama pants.

Emily had always been afraid of being a placeholder for Alena while she and Gabe were together, but now that she thought of it, it made absolutely no sense. She couldn't be a replacement for Alena, because she was nothing like Alena. That made her, she supposed, just a stupid little experiment for Gabriel Sherlock. Try Alena's polar opposite and see what happens!

Well, it seemed his experiment had shown the results everyone, it seemed, except Emily had always known it would. He and Alena were back together. Everyone was delighted.

Emily knew she'd been spotted by the comically horrified look that took over Alena's expression, but she maintained eye contact, even as Alena asked what had to be the stupidest question she’d ever heard. How was she? Well, gee. She was just fine and dandy, Alena! Her life was peachy keen! Rainbows and sunshine, don’t you know? “I’m fine,” she answered coldly, her sarcastic retort remaining safely inside her thoughts. It was a good thing she’d left the telepath at home.

'I'm fine.' It was quite apparent that the female standing a few feet away from her was anything but fine. She didn't know if it was the fact that she could practically see a fire burning in the blonde's eyes as she got that fiercely cold response, but she felt like it was to be expected. The two females had gone through phases of completely abhoring the other and being able to stand their former and soon-to-be (again) arch enemy. Guess this brings us back to being nemesises again... nemeses? Nemisi? Nemisiseseses... Regardless of how exactly to go about pronouncing that word, it would appear that was the case.

Alena brought a hand up to nervously rub at her neck, in doing so suddenly remembering the four or five visible bite marks that had been placed there over the past three days. Forcing a smile accompanied with a feeble laugh she'd wondering if they had been noticed by the other yet or if she could simply dicreetly pull down her hair in an attempt to cover them. She'd let her hand run to the back of her head and up to that messy bun before deciding against it and simply letting her hand rest on one side of her neck as she canted her head to the other, hiding behind that hood. "Filling up on gas." Alena's mind was screaming to either get out of there or start bitching about something, but instead she just kept up with the deer caught in the headlights gig.

"Probably a good thing, you know... if gas prices... go back up... soon..." Never having been one to play this part, she had no idea what to do and would bring the thumb of her free hand to her mouth, chewing on her nail. "So..." Run away, run away, run away, run away. "I talked to Evan... he... called me a cunt." Another weak laugh left her lips and she had no idea why she'd just divulged that. "Congradulations?" Pausing as those words left her lips she'd visibly wince, but didn't break eye contact.

Emily was confused at first. Evan had called Alena a cunt? The last time she had checked the two were on at least semi-decent terms. They’d been sleeping together, after all. That must have meant that he had heard about their break-up. Why else would he have contacted her? For a brief moment she was furious that Evan had interfered when she had been so clear about wanting him to stay the hell out of her life, but then she did feel a teensy bit of gratitude that someone had called Alena out on the fact that she was being a completely inconsiderate bitch of epic proportions.

Of course, that gratitude was quick to dissipate when Alena seemed to suggest that she and Evan were back together. “Excuse me?” she snapped, eyes narrowing. If Alena thought Emily had been angry before, she hadn’t seen anything yet. Alena was suggesting that Emily had run back to Evan, that the second she and Gabe broke up, she’d just go running back to good old ‘Plan B’. “I really hope you’re not suggesting that I’ve started dating Evan again.” Her jaw clenched at the thought of what Evan had done to Dylan. The effects had been disastrous. Dylan was back to his old self, and Emily, despite wanting desperately to help him, knew it wasn’t healthy to try anymore. She wasn’t talking to Hayes anymore, and she didn’t plan on starting up again any time soon.

Alena held up her hands in front of her defensively, before rolling her eyes the slightest bit. She wasn't sure if all of that was really neccasery or not, but then again she had just pretty much stolen Emily boyfriend. Well technically she hadn't because they'd already been broken up, but then there was also the fact of that kiss she shared with Gabe the Friday before last when Emily had definitely not been broken up with him. The reason it hadn't progressed any further had mainly been because of Gabe's involvement with the woman standing in front of her.

Letting out a small laugh she gave Emily an odd look, wondering if for a split second the girl really had snapped and was going to shank her with a broken beer bottle in her femoral artery or something. "Usually when I get a text message from somebody's ex-boyfriend inquiring about my relationship status - along the way throwing a few pretty sexist comments in there - I would usually assume that, yes, two said people are in fact dating. Yanno then there's also the fact that he pretty much said he's going after you or someshit, I've tried to forget the whole convo." The simple thought of those text messages pissed her off so badly and it was with a pissy tone that she'd continue on, letting one hand drop while bringing the other one under those glasses to rub at her eye that suddenly itched. "Fucking sorry, Cauldwell. Next time your little... whatever he is contacts me I'll make sure he knows this also." Taking off her glasses fully, Alena would progress from using the tips of her finger to rub her eye to the palm of her hand.

The thought of shanking Alena wasn't exactly far from Emily's mind, especially when she dared to roll her eyes at her. Of course, Emily had never been much of a shanker, per se. She was more of a punch in the face type of girl. It was much more theraputic for her, and she found it to be much more humiliating for the person getting punched, especially if she could manage to break her stupid, ugly nose.

"Contrary to popular belief, Alena, some of us don't get back together with our exes just because it's convenient," she replied icily, referring, of course, to the fact that Alena and Jude had been an item, before Alena kissed Gabe, and Gabe had assured Emily that it was nothing, it meant nothing. Emily's blood boiled at the memory. "Evan is my ex-boyfriend. That's it. In fact, you've slept with him an awful lot more recently than I have."

At Emily's mention of what could only been a reference to Jude, her jaw tightened and her lips spread into a thin line as she resisted the urge to lunge at the other girl. The blond may have been a regenerator and could feel no pain, but Alena could only wonder what exactly would happen if she were to gouge the other's eyes out. If this one kept it up, they might get to find out after all. Placing her glasses back on once more she'd run her tongue over the back of her lower lip, just ready and raring for wherever this lovely little exchange of words was going to go.

"You'd know all about convience wouldn't you? Well as far as stealing someone's boyfriend, and then later dropping them for the same guy you later turn down to go right back to the first guy? That's dedication to your craft right there." She knew that what she had done as far as her relations with Jude hadn't been fair on his part, but honestly she had been trying to avoid thinking about it. They hadn't talked really in nearly a month... and maybe that was for the best? "I'm still amazed at how much you accomplished, what with spending all of your time trying to show the world that Dylan had a heart. Looks like you didn't try hard enough." Her voice had trailed off into a catty whisper as she'd bring a hand to cup around her mouth, just in case Emily was a little hard of hearing.

The comment about about Evan would cause her to drop her hand, both of them at her side curling into fists. Twisting up her lips she'd let out a small disbelieving laugh as she shook her head. "That would be correct." Those dark brown eyes boring into the other once more as she spoke in a much too calm tone. "But... I can think of someone else that I've slept with an awful lot more recently than you have, Cauldwell." Alena jutted out a hip and brought a hand to curl around her mouth, surely trying to hide that sneer that lay there.

"I didn't steal Gabe from you. You and Gabe were broken up, and I didn't even know you existed until we'd been dating for a while. You, on the other hand, were God damn persistent, Alena. Every five minutes you were going through some kind of major catastrophe and had to have Gabe run to your rescue. And you know what, I'll bet if you hadn't been in that bakery, Gabe and I would still be together. He has a ridiculous need to save the damsel in distress, and lo and behold, you were the most distressed he'd ever seen!"

At the mention of Dylan, Emily's hands matched Alena's, curling into fists at her sides, before she willed herself to relax them. No fighting in public. Getting arrested for assault would probably lose her her track scholarship, and then she'd be screwed. "Dylan Hayes did have a heart until people like you and Evan fucking Elkins came along and told him otherwise. It's people like you and Evan that have turned him into what he is today, and yes, Alena, before you go off on another of your tirades, I understand that there's no saving Dylan Hayes. I realized that. I admit that, and I have no fucking problem admitting it, so you can call Abbey up and tell her, too. Tell her how right she was, okay? And you can have a little party together with Lucy and Gabe and everyone else and celebrate how wrong I was. I don't give a fuck."

The handle clicked, signifying her tank was full, but Emily didn't even hear it as she made her way over to where Alena was standing, hands in fists. Her mantra of 'Don't punch her, don't punch her, don't punch her' was clearly not doing its job very well, and the strain of restraining herself was evident in her tensed muscles. "I'm glad your proud of being such a slut, Alena. I'll bet you couldn't even wait twenty-four hours, could you?" she hissed. "And I'm glad you're so proud of ruining someone's relationship, too. I don't know why the rest of the world seems to think rainbows are coming out of your fat ass, Alena, but it's never been more obvious to me that you're nothing but a stupid, psychopathic, overbearing bitch. You and Gabe fucking deserve each other."
