Entry tags:asher lehtner, dinah lehtner, january, rated pg-13

Who: Dinah and Asher Lehtner
When: Sunday, early afternoon
Where: Their kitchen
What: The aftermath of Dinah finding out the shit has hit the fan, part two.
Rating: PG-13 for language, most likely.

While Grant had turned into even more of a bitch than he usually was after Elkins's little warning, Asher was...Asher. He did what he normally did, just the way he normally did it, with no real indication that anything had happened at all. The only thing that had changed since the whole episode, at least in respect to Asher's behavior, was that he seemed to no longer have a bug up his ass about smoking in the apartment.

Of course he had heard all about what had happened between Dinah and Sherlock, and Dinah and Grant immediately afterward - possibly in much more graphic detail than was necessary. But it took a lot to fuss Asher, and he was generally not fussed about that. The telepath would get what was coming to him, if Grant had his way. Ash was slightly perturbed by the fact that Dinah now seemed to be hell bent on knowing his business, but was otherwise pretty impressed with how she had dealt with both altercations. He hadn't expected his sister to insert herself into the situation, but then, so many unexpected things were happening lately, and Asher couldn't contain all of them. At least she was having favorable sorts of reactions to these things, after a bit more yelling than Asher thought was necessary, but it was probably best to just let her work it out.

He hadn't been around a lot lately, with the start of a new semester. This morning, though, he was parked at the kitchen table. As usual, he'd gotten up long before Dinah and Grant, and was sitting with his things spread across the surface - a cup of coffee, the Washington Post crossword puzzle, his cell phone off to the side, a rather empty pack of cigarettes, and a rather full ashtray. A cigarette smoldered in his left hand while he intently filled in the boxes in the game in his messy block lettering.

Her mood had improved by bunds during the last few days, but that didn't mean that Dinah had completely dismissed the actions of her brother and boyfriend. Nor had she dismissed those of the people that she'd nearly counted as friends while she'd been in high school. She just wasn't feeling as violent and outbursty about it now. Dinah had never been one ot think too deeply on things, but the things she'd discovered recently had weighed heavily on her mind. On the one hand, she was inclined to go along with whatever Asher and Grant said. On the other, she really wanted to make the decision on her own.

She'd rolled out of bed fairly late, one of the luxuries of being her own boss. It was readily apparent that she'd gotten way too much sleep. Her head felt like it had been stuffed with cotton, and all of her joints ached. Rubbing her forehead, she sat on the edge of her bed for a few moments, waiting for some of the discomfort to fade. When it didn't, she decided that her second best option would be some sort of caffine. That would leave her jittery for the next few hours, but it would be worth it if it meant she could think straight.

Dinah shuffled in to the kitchen, pausing briefly when she saw her brother. They hadn't really talked about...anything. She'd blown most of her steam with Asher, and hadn't felt like going round and round with Ash, too. Sighing quietly to herself, she went to peer at the coffee pot. It looked fresh enough. After pouring herself a cup, she propped her hip against the counter and shifted her attention to Asher. "Morning."
