Who: William and Brendan
What: William wakes up
Where: The hospital
When: Late Saturday evening
Rating: R for mentions of violence
His throat felt dry, which was a strange sensation to wake up to since he never slept with his mouth open. Trying to swallow he found it hard to do so and whimpered, shifting, aiming to push himself up on the bed. Yet he couldn't find the strength and just slumped back down, eyes still closed. There was a hand against his forehead and a kind voice - a nurse - telling him what she was doing as she was doing it. The next minute a cup was being put up against his mouth and she helped him take a drink of water.
Slowly he opened his eyes, swallowing the water he had in his mouth as the cup was taken away. The walls were white and it didn't smell like his home. He must have looked confused, too, because the nurse looked at him sympathetically.
"You are in a hospital. You were stabbed. I'm going to go get the doctor, alright?" Offering him a gentle smile she left the room and he just lay there, staring up at the bright white ceiling. Dylan had stabbed him, that much he remembered though it really was a bit faint in his mind. Inhaling he tried moving his feet and them realized he couldn't. His legs wouldn't move. Immediately he began to panic, trying to weakly pull himself up on the bed, thinking his mind must be playing tricks on him. The doctor stepped in, flanked by a nurse who tried to sooth him back down, giving him a bit of sedative.
The doctor introduced himself and began explaining William's injuries. The only thing the man caught from it though was damage to spinal membrane and temporary paralysis. There was also a comment in there about liking his books and then the doctor was gone and the nurse asked if there was anyone they could call for him. Since Brendan wasn't there William had a feeling...the man wasn't going to come even if he was called so he just shook his head, not even bothering to speak. She left him there after checking his vitals; allowing him to lay in the room and stare up at the ceiling blankly.
