"Hello? Emily?"
((caller id. mwahaha)
-tense voice- "Tell me you didn't."
"I didn't?"
-shaky voice- "How- how could you do that to him?"
"Do what? It was in the moment. It was a mistake, sure, but it's not like I planned on kissing him, alright."
"Kissing him is just the fucking tip of the iceberg, Evan!"
"Well, I meant the rest, at first."
"God, don't lie to me! You're disgusting!"
-desperate voice= "Emily! I'm not lying. I told you because I didn't want to lie. I tried my hardest to be nice to him because you liked him and I-- I thought maybe you would think I was a better person for it."
"By tricking him into thinking you were his friend- no, not just his friend, that you wanted to fucking date him?!"
"I never ever told him I wanted to date him. It was one in-the-moment kiss. That's not implying I want to date him, Emily."
"You are a straight guy kissing a gay guy! You knew what you were doing!"
"It happened so fast."
"God, what did you think was going to happen, Evan?! Dylan falls in love with you so I would, too? Are you insane?!"
"No. I didn't realize Dylan was falling in love with me. I mean, jeez. It's not my fault. I was only trying to be nicer to him. Friends or something."
"Why, why did you kiss him?"
ilu2m4u2c cancelled the Direct IM invitation.
"I don't know, Emily. The only person I want to kiss is you. I mean. Think about it. You know everything about me. Everything. You're the only person I trust."
-bitter laugh- "You know, I thought I did. Fuck, I really thought there was good in you. I thought maybe it was just... with your dad's influence, it was buried, but you proved me wrong, you really did."
"Fuck. I'm sorry Emily." -sounds sincere-
"No- no you're not! That's the sad thing! You're not!"
"I'm not sorry for what I did to the kid. But I am sorry that it hurt you."
"He was getting better because of you, Evan. He was starting to have faith in people, and you just... you don't even care about anyone but yourself."
"That's not true. I care about you."
"No you don't! You're obsessed! You're fucking obsessed because you hate being told no!"
"I'm not obsessed. I love you, Emily. Fuck. Why can't you fucking see that? What do I have to do? Become a fucking tool like Gabe? Ugh. He's just as much of an ass as I am. You're just too blinded to see it."
"You don't lie to people you love. You don't manipulate people to get closer to them. And don't talk about Gabe. I've yet to see him seduce someone else to prove his love for me!"
"Then he obviously doesn't love you as much as I do."
"Don't make me gag!" -brief pause- "Did you tell him?"
"Tell who, what?"
"Dylan, Evan. Did you tell him why you've been so nice to him?"
"Sort of."
"Sort of?"
"I told him it wouldn't happen again."
"Does he know you were only friends with him to impress me?"
".....yes."
"Fuck! God damn it, Evan!"
"What? It didn't come out at first. I just told him we could be friends and he didn't like that. So I had to let him know the truth. Otherwise, I'd have some highschooler tailing after me and throwing rocks at my window."
"You are unbelievable."
"I'm sorry."
"I can't believe I thought for one second you'd changed. You know, you really had me fooled. I am such an idiot." -shaky breath- "Stay away from me, Evan. Don't talk to me, don't call me, don't text me, don't even think about me."
"Emily....I--I'm sorry. Please."
"Don't show up at my work. Just... just leave me alone."
"All those things I said to you, besides the Dylan stuff...I meant that. All that advice...all the powers stuff. That was me. I wasn't bullshitting you about that."
"Goodbye, Evan." -click-
