Who: Evan and Emily
What: practice and anger control
Where: the third pool house (the heated one)
When: Saturday night

Evan smiled as he saw her small form approaching. It was easy to spot her, the only color in a sea of white. Though, the snow was still whipping across the yard as it fell from the sky. He squinted against the glass and watched her. Though he couldn't see her face, it was clear she was angry even from where he was standing. The way she trudged through the mountains of snow...it made him laugh and shake his head. He'd definitely missed her. All of her, bad moods and all.

"Well, it's about time. I'm waiting out here in the cold. It's a freaking blizzard out there." He grinned, making it clear he was only joking. The third pool house was heated anyways, water and all. That was a good thing, in case he dropped her while running. And it was large enough to give him enough room to slow down so he wouldn't go crashing through any glass walls.

"So. What's up? You sounded pretty pissed on the phone?" He ushered her inside and gestured for her to sit on one of the reclining lawn chairs. He himself sat in one next to her.

Emily had been pissed the entire drive over to Evan's place, and she was still pissed as she slammed her car door shut and trudged through the freezing cold to the heated pool house. Immediately, she started peeling off layers, pointedly ignoring Evan's comment so as not to snap at him as she stripped off her winter coat and her other items until she was left, quite possibly five pounds lighter, with a pile of clothing shoved in the corner.

"Apparently I have a neon sign above my head that says 'HEY, Gabe's friends- attack Emily out of the blue for no reason!' because I swear, they come out of fucking nowhere-" She sighed as she looked down at her now bare feet. It felt bizarre wearing so little when it was so miserably cold outside. "She basically told me I'm a naive idiot who's going to get everyone killed. Wasn't that sweet of her?" she drawled, still glaring down at the floor.

"Chick's a cunt. 'Nuff said. Don't let her bother you. She's probably just jealous or something." Evan shrugged. He had no idea who Emily was talking about, but any girl who just called sweet people like the one before him a naive idiot was definitely not someone he wanted to associate with. Emily was a loving person. He knew she'd never intentionally hurt anyone. Why didn't other people see that? Evan didn't know.

"I mean. You'd never hurt a fly."

Emily quirked a brow at him. "I don't know. I was seriously considering punching her in the face. Is that a bad idea?" She managed a weak laugh at that, despite being rather serious about what she'd said. If the two girls had been face-to-face, Emily might have hit the girl, in all honesty, hard too.

"She said Dylan's manipulating me so that I'll be willing to do whatever he wants." She snorted. "Like being nice to someone suddenly makes me their bitch. I must have missed that memo."

"If being nice to someone makes you their bitch, then apparently I'm getting it from all angles." He chuckled and stretched out. He was wearing his swim trunks and a pair of running shoes. Really, he just didn't want any of his clothes to get wet if something happened and they fell.

"I mean. Punching her in the face would definitely get your 'non-bitch' message across, but is that the right thing to do? Probably not. Especially if she's Gabe's friend. You don't want to cause any problems there. Getting into fights with your boyfriend's friends probably isn't very girlfriend like. I know it's hard, but maybe try to let it roll off your shoulders? You know Dylan is a good guy. And you know you're not naive. That's all that matters."

Emily glanced over at him with a small smile. "When did you get to be so smart, relationship guru?" she asked with a soft laugh. "Anyway- she's still alive, isn't she? I'm behaving." For now. But if cuntface (which had apparently been adopted as her new codename) came at her again, it wouldn't be entirely her fault if she ended up with a broken nose. Maybe that'd help her keep it out of other people's business.

"So you can really run on water, huh?" she asked, looking across the pool. Fifty meter pool in the backyard. It must be nice being so rich you could afford an olympic-sized pool and two other poolhouses. Emily shimmied out of her sweat pants and her tank top. She certainly hadn't been expecting to wear the purple bikini again any time soon, and her hands came to rest on her hips as she looked to him. "Are you running in your tennis shoes? Won't they get wet if you fall in?"

"These are my lucky tennis shoes. I've worn them for every race I've won. I was wearing them when--" He paused and cleared his throat. He'd been wearing them when he'd finally won Emily over the first time. But he definitely couldn't say that. "--when my father made a really important business deal with Japan." He finished lamely. Oh well. He tried.

And he was trying, also, with all of his effort might I add, not to stare at Emily's newly nearly naked body. He'd seen it before, but it had been so long. It was hard. Very hard. But he didn't want her to know that, so he pretended not to notice.

Instead, he busied himself with stretches. Hopping up from the chair he'd been sitting in, he began his pre-race rituals. It helped that he was in shape. It certainly did.

"Did I mention Carman was staying in the house?" He briefly wondered what the girl was doing now. Hopefully not looking out her window. Though, with the snow falling so heavily, she probably wouldn't see anything.

Emily chuckled, not thinking to question the accuracy of that statement. Lucky shoes were lucky shoes! "Well, I'm sure Charles has you wear them whenever he's in a big meeting then." She grinned. "Maybe I'll start forcing you to wear them when I have races- their luck could rub off on me."

And as Evan avoided staring at Emily, Emily pointedly avoided staring at Evan, especially when he started stretching. She was sure he knew that she thought he had a good body. She'd not been shy about admiring it while they had dated, but it was now quite embarrassing to get caught looking. "Carman? Hunter?" Her brows shot up as she looked to him, willing her gaze to stay focused on his eyes. "Done with Rebecca already? That was quick." It was a joke, of course, but for all she knew it could have been rather accurate.

"What? No. Rebecca might be coming to stay too. Nah, Carman was talking about her heater being broken on the forums. We're in the middle of a blizzard. I couldn't let her freeze to death. So, I offered her to stay. I mean, my house is more than big enough. I'd never met her before, either. Nice to make new friends." He smiled nonchalantly and shrugged it off. It was certainly a bonus that Carman was smoking hot and wanted to spend time with him. Course, he definitely wouldnt 'cheat' on Bex, real relationship or not. He had an image to uphold. And uphold it he would.

"I'm trying to be hospitable." He looked up and gave Emily a cheeky grin. "Hard to believe, I know." His eyes unwillingly ran down her body and he cleared his throat and looked away again.

"Two good-looking women in once house? Really, Evan, what are the neighbors going to think?" She laughed. "But that was nice of you. I think I remember reading about that. I guess I could have offered my couch, but I'm sure she'll find your house a bit more... comfortable." What with it being about twenty times as large as her apartment and all.

"So... can I watch first?" she asked. "Your running on water, I mean. Will I even be able to see you?"

Evan shrugged and stood straight, rubbing the back of his neck. He looked from the pool back to Emily (her face only). "I don't know," he said. "Guess we'll find out."

He gave a grin and walked to the edge of the poolhouse. He needed all the room he could get, olympic sized or not. It was going to be pretty hard to stop at the other side. He definitely wouldn't be able to hit the speed of sound.

"Ready?" He closed his eyes and silently counted to three. The second he opened them, he took off. Before he knew it, he was coming to a halt on the other side, putting his hands out in front of him just in case he couldn't stop. He did, though. Thankfully.

"See anything?"

Emily's eyes were wide as she stared at Evan across the pool. If she had blinked she might have missed it entirely. "You were... a blur," she called to him, slightly breathless. It made her entire track career dwarf in comparison. "That was... really cool." She let out a small burst of laughter in her disbelief. "Do it again!"

Evan laughed at her shock. It was cute really. That look on her face was priceless.

He took a deep breath and in less than a second, he was standing right next to her.

"Do what again?" He grinned and cocked his head in mock curiousity.

"Holy shit," she breathed in disbelief. She could have sworn he went even faster that time. It was... unbelievable. She couldn't even begin to process how it must have felt for him to move that fast, though she supposed if he was going to be carrying her, she'd have a general idea. "Evan that is... whoa," she said, struggling to come up with words to describe her awe.

"So... how are we going to do this exactly?" Piggy back seemed easiest, but she really had no idea what kind of position Evan would want her in for this little adventure.

"Hold on," he said, dipping down to hoist her in his arms, wedding style. One hand on her back, and one supporting her knees. It was the easiest to carry her, if not the most aerodynamically sound. Still, he didn't want to drop her and this was the best way to do it.

"Alright, ready? I won't go til you tell me to."

Emily let herself be hoisted up into his arms, her own sliding around his neck for support. "Yeah, okay, just... count to three or something so I know." She really had no idea what she was in for, but she had a feeling it was going to be something akin to a rollercoaster... only faster.

"Alright." He cleared his throat, looked at her and winked and then looked straight again. He backed up to the edge of the pool house again, giving him ample amount of room.

"One...two..." And he was on the other side of the pool house before he could say three. Course, with the extra weight, it was definitely harder to run across the water. One of his shoes was a little wet. But he'd learn how to fix that. That was what they were practicing for, right?"

Emily's eyes slammed shut just in time to open them again on the other side of the pool. Her stomach, she was certain, had been left behind at the other side, and her hair looked as if it had been blown by the wind, all to one side. "...Whoa," she whispered, regaining her bearings. "Was it a lot harder?" she asked, looking up at him.

"Not alot harder. But I could definitely tell." He looked down at his shoe and shook it. A few drops of water fell off. "We almost went under at one point."

He frowned and put her down for a moment.

"Maybe if I carry you a different way? Sort of like...like a caveman carrying his unconscious wife?"

Emily frowned at him. "Did you really have to put it that way?" she asked, hands coming to rest on her hips. "Most people would go with 'over my shoulder', you know." She hestiated about giving her answer, however. Even if he hadn't meant it that way, it was exactly how she'd feel if she was slung over his shoulder.

"I don't know, Evan. What about... piggy back or something?"

"Piggy back? Lame." If Evan was ever going to take a girl on a date, he wasn't going to ask her to jump on his back. No, he was probably going to carry her like a bride, the way they'd just done it. He just wanted to see if 'over the shoulder' worked any better.

"Come here." He bent down and hoisted her up and over his shoulder. Well. That was certainly a different view. He was now right next to her bum. Lovely.

"Alright. One...two..." Again, at three they were one the other side. His shoe didn't go under this time.

"Evan!" she shrieked in protest, giving his back a firm thump with her fist. But, partially out of fear of dying if he let her go at such rapid speeds, she stopped squirming as he counted down. "You're a jerk, you know that?" Her tone wasn't malicious, more along the lines of teasing as she shook off the fuzzy feeling in her head. "Would you put me down now, please?"

Evan laughed, looking over his shoulder at her helpless form. There was no way she was going to fight her way from his grip. He was pretty confident about that.

"Oh, you want to get down? How badly?"

Emily groaned. "Evan, just put me down." She should have seen this coming, really, but at least she'd tried to prevent it. She hadn't exactly had much choice when he'd tossed her over his shoulder against her will.

"Alright. I'll put you down. You know, since you asked so nicely." He grinned evilly, though it was completely lost on the tiny girl as he inched slowly closer to the edge of the pool.

In a few swift motions, she was safely off his shoulder, but before her feet touched the ground, he lightly tossed her into the water.

He whistled innocently, pretending to kick at something on the pavement next to him as her head submerged.

And Emily, exactly as he'd hoped no doubt, let out a very girly shriek of surprise as she was tossed- and so close to being on solid ground- into his pool.

The water was warm at the very least, but as she broke the surface, she was definitely glaring in his direction. "You are such an ass, Evan," she said, before rolling on to her back, so that she could give him a good splashing with her feet.
