The punch to the face had startled Carson far more than it probably should have, but really the man had never been one to react well to violence. Without punching back he simply sprinted toward his house, got inside and slammed the door shut, locking both locks and putting on the chain. With a sniffle, Sparky padding up to him to see what was wrong, Carson just pat his dog's head and made his way into the bathroom where he looked at his eye in the mirror.

Yeah, he was going to have a shiner. With a bit of a frown he wet a washcloth with cold water and then held it to the eye, grimacing. Sparky sat at his heels, whining with concern, tail swishing back and forth.

"Its okay, Sparky." Carson murmured as he went back out to the living room and got on the computer, leaving a message for Brendan. He wanted the man to come over so badly, because he was so scared.

Brendan never moved so quick in his life. Well, not recently, and not in fear for a friend but rather in fear of being mugged back in L.A.. He hopped in his car and was at Carson's in no time, getting out and locking the doors before he was going to Carson's door and knocking.

"Carson? Big guy? It's me," He called, knowing that the man was probably questioning any noise he heard outside as being friend or foe.

	Sparky jogged over to the door, sat in front of it and barked. He looked to Carson, who was slowly wandering over, and then looked back to the door again and barked, growling even. "Sparky, stop it. Its Brendan." He murmured, unlocking and unchaining the door. The man had to nudge the dog aside with his foot as he opened it. "Hey." Carson murmured softly. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Hey," Brendan walked in and put his hand on Carson's arm, looking at the man's face with a grimace, "That looks worse than the shiner William gave me when we first met, babe. Come on, let's sit down, okay?" He patted Carson's arm before gesturing for him to lead the way to the couch. He wanted the man to be okay, and he turned to shut the door and lock it, just for Carson's comfort. And for his own, since who knew if someone would come back for more punching?

"I know, baby, I know," Brendan had his hand up, stroking the man's hair slowly, "Not many people like it when they get hit." He was trying to think how he was going to protect Carson now, how he was going to make sure no one hit him. Because really, the grown man curled against him like he was was down right heart breaking, so Brendan wanted to make sure it didn't happen again.

	Carson was feeling better now that he has Brendan there with him. He felt safer, even, just being in his friend's arms and closed his eyes tightly. "Thank you for coming, Brendan." The man murmured. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Don't mention it, Carson. You'd do the same for me," He pointed out, patting the man's back, "I got your back, and you got mine," He sounded terribly butch there, and he was almost proud. Of course, only when william wasn't there to hear it. Like a tree falling in a forest, if Brendan was butch and William wasn't there to see it, there was real doubt if he was butch at all.

	Brendan skipped the first two questions-they were a bit murky-and went for the third, "Oh, I'm so ready, Carson, big guy, it isn't funny. I got all the decorations up, the tree is up, my presents are wrapped-which reminds me, you have a few under my tree, mister, since you are coming over for dinner, right?" 	"Yeah?" Brendan looked over at the tree, distracted from his stroking before he picked it back up, fingers working through Carson's hair, "And hey, I bet he'll be happy you got him something.
