WHO: Robin, Dietre, Rue
WHAT: Robin has nekkid pictures. Introducing the ex to the bf.
WHERE: Rue's Gallery
WHEN: Tuesday Afternoon

Robin was excited. He hadn't seen Rue's gallery since the new paintings went up. He couldn't wait, and he'd always loved her work. Of course, it would be a little odd to see his naked self hanging out for all to see on one of those walls, but whatever. It wasn't like she'd never painted him nude before. Glancing over at D though, he resisted the urge to laugh at the thought of how the younger would react to it. He'd probably go all kinds of red.

The brunette hoped Dietre and Rue got along as well. He saw no reason why they shouldn't. Yes, she was his ex, but -- they were friends now is all. Plus, Rue was awesome. How anyone could not like her would be beyond him.

"After you!" He grinned and pulled open the door to the gallery for D. "I did mention they're all nude paintings right?" He asked absently. Sure, it was a little late, but at least it was a little warning before the other found himself face to face with a naked somebody.

It really didn't take much for Robin to convince Dietre to go to the gallery. Since Thanksgiving, if the man had asked D to jump off a bridge the boy would gladly do so. And anyway, Dietre enjoyed the arts, so he was actually interested rather than just being happy for any excuse to be with Robin.

He wore his usual formal-esque attire. He was under the impression that you had to look nice when you went to a gallery, so that meant he tried to go all out with a suit jacket and everything, but had to force himself to settle for a tie instead. If Robin wasn't dressing up, then he didn't want to stand out.

The door was held open, Dietre offering one of his faint smiles in thanks, but the moment the words 'all nude' came out of Robin's mouth, it faded. He had only enough time to notice a whole lot of flesh tone before he turned his head, brows up.

"..What?"

"Robin! You came!" Rue was usually the epitome of dark and brooding. Normally, she was judgemental, bossy and just a tad bit snarky. But when she was in the company of any of her friends (really, mostly Robin or Mickey) then she was the quintessential ball of sunshine; to an extent, of course. Immediately upon seeing her former lover come into the gallery, she bounced towards him with glee and flung her arms around his neck. "I didn't think you were coming. But you did!"

Her face was all smiles as she let go of the hug and grabbed his hand to lead him around like an excited five year old. Her mouth endlessly gabbed as she pointed and jabbed at all the pictures decorating the walls. But then, she stopped.

"Who's this?" She pointed rather...well...let's just say it wasn't very nice, towards Dietre. He was a boy. He hardly looked a day over eighteen. Rue's eyes cut right through him. "Is he with you? Is this..." She paused and looked up at Robin.

"Of course! I wouldn't miss it." He said excitedly, more then happy to let his arms wrap around her waist, lifting her off the ground a few inches to spin the woman around playfully. She was always so much fun to be around, and he stumbled a step or two as Rue dragged him off to point out different paintings, chuckling to himself.

Then she noticed D. For a minute the only thought that crossed his mind was Uh Oh. Robin recognized that look, and he'd hate to be on the receiving end of that stare. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea, he should've talked to her more about Dietre first. He was sure she'd play nice if he asked, but he had the feeling that not only would this be a little awkward, but he was going to get an earful when they were alone.

"This is Dietre." He looked at her and whispered a small 'please be nice'

"Dietre, this is the amazingly talented Rue."

He was still trying to get over the nudity information when suddenly a woman came bounding in their direction. Dietre was surprised enough to take a step back, only to be left behind. His good mood was quickly vanishing, his posture stiffening at the joyful greeting between his friend and the stranger, the way Robin spun her around..

The blank mask that Dietre hid his feelings behind fixed itself to his face when he was finally noticed. It took a moment for him to pull his gaze away from the girl's hand holding Robin's to actually look at her. And what a horrible stare he was treated to! Normally Dietre was compelled to be as polite as possible toward women, but suddenly he had absolutely no desire to make use of any manners. She didn't have any.

He shifted uncomfortably under the stare, glancing to Robin uncertainly as they were introduced. Wasn't this supposed to be a fun trip? Who did this girl think she was, anyway?

"...Hello." Note the distinct lack of a 'pleased to meet you' and the dead tone he spoke in.

Rue feigned a small smile-- really, her lips upturned for a half a millisecond before turning back into a thin line. "Hi." She looked back up at Robin. He was asking her to be nice. Rolling her eyes, she took a step forward and extended a hand.

"I'm Rue. This is my gallery." And my Robin, she felt like adding. But she kept that bit to herself. She wasn't really all that posessive. Except when it came to the man standing next to her. He would always be considered partly belonging to her. They'd dated for a while (not too long, though) and even after had remained very good friends. "How do you know Robin?"

She wanted to shove their previous relationship into this boy's face. But she'd do as Robin asked. She owed him that much.

Robin estimated that he was about five feet from the door. It would take less then a minute to get there, and he was sure he could out run both of them. He had nice long legs after all. Maybe he'd zap the electricity from this place, and while it was dark he'd run away, and none of them would ever speak of this terrible idea of his again.

Rue clearly didn't like Dietre.
Dietre was even quieter then usual, and not overly polite either.

"He's my neighbor." Robin started. Easy part. "We're dating." Not going to go over as well. Oh well, he had the lecture coming anyways.

"So...Who wants to see me naked!" Er, not how he meant for that to come out. He'd said it quickly, in the hopes of changing the subject, which he'd probably managed even in a more awkward way then he'd intended. "I mean -- My portrait." Robin laughed to himself, rubbing the back of his neck.

Dietre's gaze flickered downward at Rue's extended hand, and for a moment, it looked like he wasn't going to shake it, just stare at her with that blank statue expression. There was a stiffness in his jaw when he finally reached out to grab her hand in his, and he kept the shake as brief as possible. He had no idea what this woman had against him, but he already had quite a bit against her. A shame her parents left out a letter in her name. All you had to do was add a 'd' and it'd be perfect. 'Rude' was definitely what she was.

Thankfully Robin answered her questions for him, D lifting his chin a bit, a flash of defiance, when the man added that they were dating. A nice awkward silence followed, and then poor Robin tried to make up for it, failing miserably.

Naked? There were paintings of Robin naked? The boy went red, like clockwork, eyes going wide. From his reaction it would be easy for Rue to guess that though the two men were dating, there were certain things they hadn't gotten around to yet. Nudity being one of them.

"..She painted you?" No anger yet, mostly surprise, and entwined with that, jealousy. The little seed that was born from watching Robin swing Rue happily around had just burst into a full bloom.

"You guys are dating?" Rue's eyebrows raised. She'd heard a great bit about D from Robin, but she didn't really know the extent of their relationship. If her eyes could have flashed green with envy, they would have. But, alas they stayed brown.

It appeared as though Robin was being sincere with neither of them. At least she wasn't the only one kept in the dark. To her pleasure, Dietre seemed not to know of their previous escapades as much as she didn't know about the present ones.

"But you haven't fucked yet, then?" She watched the younger boy closely. He was blushing. Clearly, he hadn't yet seen Robin in the nude-- something that made that smile creep back onto the girl's lips.

"Yeah. Since thanksgiving." That sounded right, yes? Before that really couldn't be called dating. First real kiss probably marked it. Things hadn't gotten much further then that. Robin was more then happy to take things slow until D was comfortable with anything else.

He might've chuckled at Dietre's blushing, but the boy's tone of voice made him think now was not the time. Was he jealous? He supposed that kind of understood, but figured D would understand once he explained. Robin started to, then paused as Rue spoke.

He could have gone right ahead and died at her question. "Jeeze. Way to be subtle." Normally, her being blunt didn't bother him. Robin liked that she didn't hold back, said what she thought, but that was a little more blunt then he cared for at the moment. Especially with that particular topic. "No, we haven't."

Rue might have heard about him, but Dietre hadn't heard much of anything about Rue other than that Robin wanted to come see her paintings because they were friends. Again he was content to let the older male do the talking, he didn't particularly like the way Rue had to question the fact that him and Robin were dating. He didn't see why it was a topic that needed discussion anyway, it was his business, and he didn't need the approval of some one he didn't know.

He was about to suggest that perhaps they should get to viewing the paintings (ahem, don't say it was only because he wanted to see Robin's portrait) when he was sidelined by the next thing that came out of Rue's mouth. The boy's jaw actually dropped, then snapped shut so hard it the sound was audible. If it looked like he was blushing before...it was nothing compared to the shade of red he went now.

"We-..That's-...It's not any of your business..!" He was aghast that she would even ask. Even so, apparently Robin felt compelled to tell her anyway. A long breath was exhaled through his nose. Dietre was not happy right now. A muscle in his jaw twitched and he quickly turned his head, glaring a hole into the nearest wall.

"Apparently, it is," Rue muttered triumphantly as Robin answered her question. She was quite rude, wasn't she? But honestly, she didn't give a rat's ass. Robin knew how she was and he liked her just the same. She didn't need to impress this nobody. Robin would be done with the boy in no time at all. They hadn't even had sex yet!

She opened her mouth to further shove the fact that her and Robin had only been dating for two weeks before they'd had intercourse, but she decided against it and shut it. It was a first for the girl. She hardly ever thought before she spoke. But she wasn't about to make herself sound like a slut to someone who clearly didn't have all his facts straight. Her and Robin had been friends for a long time, even before they dated. Clearly this boy knew nothing.

"Robin and I are really close," she said, giving him a knowing grin that only Dietre could see. "I'd do anything for him."

This was supposed to be a nice trip to see Rue, introduce the two of them, look at some nude paintings. Of course, now he'd upset D by answering her question. Was it supposed to be a secret? It would seem so. In any case, he reached out to grasp the younger's hand, smiling apologetically even though the other found the wall across from them more interesting.

It was kind of weird, standing there holding Rue's and Dietre's hands. He was trying to play peace keeper though. It helped that Rue seemed to have thought twice about saying something (such a rare occurrence that he knew whatever she'd planned to say would have definitely made things worse so he was thankful that she didn't), and instead -- as far as Robin could tell - was attempting to be nice. He couldn't see the grin.

"I still play model for her sometimes. It's a pretty easy job, I just stand around and look gorgeous. She's a great artist though, manages to make me look even better." He commented, trying to lighten the mood.

"You should hear Dietre play the piano, Rue. He can play like you paint. It's amazing." He couldn't go wrong if he complimented them both, and maybe it would help D be less upset with him about telling her that they hadn't slept together yet.

It wasn't supposed to be a secret, really...Dietre was simply uncomfortable with discussing his sexuality in public. Not to mention he was just an intensely private person, as Robin knew, he had great difficulty in discussing his feelings when they were intense, it had taken him forever to even say anything about liking the other man. The more Rue spoke, the more Dietre disliked her. It was the first time, aside from his father, that he actually thought he might hate some one. Dylan was a murderer and he didn't hate him! But this woman...she seemed intent on making wounds solely to rub salt in them with glee.

A warm hand closed around his own, and he was calmed. Dietre gave it a squeeze, holding it tightly, possessive but also needing the reassurance. Being angry helped keep other, more damaging emotions away, like fear and paranoia. He was too insecure to be toyed with in this manner without the risk of lasting effects. He didn't want to doubt Robin, to question why the man would want him...Rue was beautiful, excitable, fun to be with (if you were the right person). While he was quiet, serious and moody. When compared, he had trouble seeing how Robin could stay interested in him. But then all he had to tell himself was that Rue was a bitch and that made him feel better.

The compliments lured his gaze away from the wall, and he managed to give Robin one of his smiles-without-actually-smiling things. He didn't let go of the man's hand, and from the looks of things, Dietre seemed to intend for the two of them to stay fused together until they left.

Rue wasn't really intent on giving Robin's hand up either, for the record. She noticed the small little pass between them and frowned. She wasn't about to break them up but she definitely didn't like being second in Robin's life. Not that she was ever really first, but still.

"Well, let's go then," she said, giving his arm a rather hard tug as she started off in the opposite direction than they were facing. "I'm sure you recognize Mickey." She was trying to be conversational, but it was hard. Still, art was her passion and she could talk the knob off a door if she had to.

"I'm doing a series. People are at their most honest when they're naked, don't you think, Robin?" She could completely ignore Dietre. And she was planning on it. "I mean. You can see their scars, physical and emotional."

It was like a dysfunctional field trip and he was stuck in the middle being chaperon. He was disappointed that it had gone so badly already. There was no favoritism either way that anyone could tell, Robin just walked along quietly between them looking a little put out. Nodding slightly, his gaze turned to the painting.

"They're wonderful." Robin said, sincere but definitely lacking in enthusiasm. The plan was to ignore Dietre then? He didn't miss the fact that she'd asked him specifically. For a minute he considered just calling this off. He'd come back later on his own. It would be hard to enjoy the gallery this way.

Dietre had gone as silent as a church graveyard, following along, brooding the whole way. He knew that Robin was upset and it made him feel guilty, as well as all the more angry at Rue. If she really cared a thing for Robin, she wouldn't have been so nasty and ruined his good mood.

The paintings were good, and the nudity did not bother him all that much (it was when they'd around to Robin's portrait that he'd have a problem). Classical art was mostly of nudes, after all. He didn't know anyone in these paintings anyway, though a face or two looked vaguely familiar.

The boy was well aware of his being ignored. That was fine with him, as long as Robin still held his hand, he could care less of Rue spoke another word to him or not. He didn't plan on speaking up any time soon, she could expect no compliments from him ...unless Robin managed coaxed one or two out.

He kept as close to the older man as possible, so close that their sides touched most of the time. It was his silent declaration of possession. He had the right to be this close, she didn't. Rue could ignore him all she wanted, but that didn't change the fact Robin had chosen him over her. The very thought caused him to shoot her a haughty look now and then. What a seesaw Dietre was! Painfully insecure one moment, smug the next. A sure sign that on the inside, he was a complete mess.
