Final Fantasy 7. What amusing wank you attract.
Edit: Turns out that the player sent that letter was a 'I'm leaving 4evahs!' letter, and has ditched the RPG. Thank god.
Righto.
This issue has been building up over a couple of weeks or so, in a FF7 forum RPG that I co-admin/co-own.
The application process is that Applicationer has to submit a finished application as a new thread in the application board, titled as the character's name and role, for simplicity's sake, as a guest.
Pending Player L had completely ignored this process, and privately sent It's application to my co-admin.
Fast forward two weeks or so of Pending Player L completely ignoring my presence; 60% of the continual rejections and general discussion taking place in an e-mail or IM with my co-admin. I have only received a couple of replies from Pending Player L in the forum itself, when we had requested It to submit the new application like everybody else does.
As of this morning, Pending Player L had sent a rather... sad letter, to my co-admin, regarding the latest rejection of his application. Under the cut to protect your eyes, somewhat NSFW.
Co-Admin:
Well I have gotten an e-mail from Seph this morning. And I am noting the things we would like to see changed.
1/ the personality.
- If you want both introvert and extrovert traits, for instance an example: somewhere in the middle of introverted and extroverted.
- The contradictions of insane, psychotic, yet carefree, and childishly happy go lucky. Try and fix that.
2/ your looks.
- No one can be the perfection of beauty/handsomeness/flawlessness. add some imperfections like a scar or something. mebbe a little tan-ness.
- No time-materia.
Pending Player L:
From what I can gather, you seem to be aiming a little too general. Below a level I am comfortable writing with. The term Cliche comes to mind. When you talk to someone, are they Completely Introverted? Or Completely Extroverted? No. So why should these charecters be?
You seem to be misunderstanding my point. He is, personality wise, dependant on the person. And how can you say in block capitols what someone's personality is? He is both introverted and extroverted. It is however, dependent on the situation.
'.......// a paragraph omitted that was not important, to do with how his character apparently is no longer insane or care-free. ....'
Those he does actually befriend, he let's his guard down with so to speak. Talks to them, shows interest and a little Extro.
He is not, the depressed teenager who sits in his room, doesn't talk to anyone ever. Neither is he the guy who runs around saying hey to everyone in sight, and is always in your face. You can't really expect me to say. He is 'ENTER' because he is neither one nor the other, but rather a mixture of them. Think of a five year old, brought into one of your friends house. He's been told to behave, so he's quiet, and quite wary of your friend cuz he's never seen them. Once they start talking though, he loosens up a bit, laughs, plays and has fun. That is what I'm talking about, save a lot more general.
However. I am to blame for this. I should probably come up with a better layout for his personality, and be more clear, that these personality traits change depending on who he is with.
The only hint of Psychosis I can see, is where he attacked Hojo outside his chamber when he woke up. This was fear. Nothing more. Other than that, there is a snipet in personality which show's what 'others think' of him.
The looks. You have to be joking. Are you seriously saying your denying me a charecter because of how he looks? I haven't said that he is handsome, or listed any fetures save a high jaw line. His skin is free of blemishes due to being raised in a military environment. E.g, no sweets, and fatty stuff that's bad for you. Just water and bare essentials. His skin is pale, because of the stress of being born in a lab. I suppose adding this would make it more understandable =P And to be honest, telling me to put a scar on him is just a little presumptuous.
I will make that change. But be aware that it is not added by my free will, but rather to conform to a generalised ideal.
I'm not sure why you want the time materia removed, but fair do's.
.End.
We'd like to know on how to handle any further... responses from Pending Player L. We had already sent an e-mail explaining that the application guide and the materia guide explicitly states 'No Time Materia', and 'No flawless skin such as porcelain or curves in the right places'.
Our e-mail was.. about half the length of the letter It had sent us, and was actually legible. Pending Player L had included random OT personal parts that we had not even questioned, such as the Professor Hojo/SOLDIER issue, or 'what his personality has to be'.
We had just explained what he CANNOT be, which is both the extreme polars of a personality.
It doesn't help that Pending Player L is approximately the 20th drama llama we've made contact with, because for some reason it's just too hard to read the rules of a game.
