OOC for Axis City

Hello!

This is Richard Hastings, who despite being a respected scientist, has not yet realised he is no-longer in his teens. He is self-centred, and most of the things he does are for his own long-term or immediate gain. While certainly not a lazy man, he does tend to take the limelight and leaves his research partner Edward Shaw to do the paperwork and the tidying up while Richard heads out to press-conferences.

He loves attention both for his discoveries in the lab and in his private life, and his track-record of relationships show that. His most recent break-up was all over the gossip magazines for a week, and everyone assumed that it was his wandering attention that brought an end to the relationship, and who is to say they are wrong? But even so, there seems to be a supply of attractive young men and women who want to be seen on his arm.

While some of them may profess to know everything there is to know about Richard Hastings, only a handful of people know that he is one and the same as super hero LiveWire. Given his unnatural powers during a freak accident at the laboratory, Richard has put them to good use as a champion of the people, finding their admiration and adoration a much more compelling mistress than the fight of Good vs. Evil. He’s actually got some very nasty and closed-minded opinions, but maybe overtime he’ll get over himself.

Hello again. Roz and her second character here, Aiden Adams.

Aiden is a reporter for the ACDN*covering science and technology. He’s especially interested in what science means to society, given the rises of the Supers. He’s anti-supers, feeling that while there was crime before they arrived there wasn’t as much of it, and certainly not with people who could disappear into thin air or blow up buildings by clapping their hands.

In his personal life Aiden has recently divorced from his husband, Danny Taylor who is something of a local celebrity in his new job as news anchor. The ending of their relationship, especially given Danny’s affair with another man, is a sore spot for Aiden and he’s not really ready to give his heart away again quickly – no matter what a certain captain of industry thinks.

He has a two year old son, James, who he loves more than life itself and whom he currently has full custody of. After the divorce he moved into a smaller apartment on the bad side of town.

I’d love to set up some friends for him, how he interacts with people at work and some situations of peril so he can get a good story.

Hi! I'm Destin but all of my friends call me D so feel free. I'm bringing in Morgan here, he's your resident kick-ass effeminate cross-dressing shadow-manipulating super villain. If he thinks it'll get a reaction out of someone then he's likely to flirt with them, but he really has a taste for men who are older and powerful, and even if he might be coy make no mistake that he's also very cruel and catty. Oh, and he's the secretary / personal assistant / Girl Friday for Alexander Moretti to whom he's very loyal. He spends a lot of time at his boss's side, and given how close he is to Mr. Moretti, it's no surprise that Morgan has a lot of power in the Moretti empire (criminal and business).

I'm always up for new lines-- acquaintances, enemies, romances, really whatever-- so even if you don't see it on my list I'll still welcome suggestions. Oh, and there's always the fact that his alter ego has probably been a pain in the ass to more than a few superheroes in Axis City.

Hello, y'all! I'm Maíra - and yes, before you ask, I'm Brazilian. I've been RPing for some months now, and obviously couldn't help myself when I saw Axis and thought I could make one of my favorite actresses, Kate Walsh, have superpowers.

Sophia Redford is a doctor. To be more precise, a plastic surgeon. She has the ability to read minds, and has struggled all her life trying to control that. Even though she is not one of the oldest to gain superpowers, hers are not exactly recent: she got them when she was 6, thanks to a accident in her father's lab. She doesn't remember how it happened, and her family never talked about it. Nowadays she runs a clinic with her life partner, Jessica Hastings.

She doesn't think she has what it takes to become a superhero, specially because she can't protect herself to any attack. She never had a mentor, and everything she knows she learned by herself. I'm up for plotting! Situations which would lead her to behave as a super, being forced to work for a villain, any trouble she might get for reading someone's thoughts, having some kind of mentor, someone to guide her... Hi, I’m Roz and I’m the mod, and this is Megan Stacy – aka Mimic and she’s a low-level super villain.

Megan was quite happy going through life working a rather boring job as receptionist at the latest division of Moretti Media – a laboratory. That was until it blew up, killing her boyfriend and fusing her head set to her skull. Now she’s pretty pissed.

Megan posses the ability to mimic voices, and change her finger prints, making it easy for her to break through complicated defensive systems. Megan blames Alexander Moretti for the explosion (and she’s probably right) so it’s her plan to bankrupt him, breaking into his secret accounts, stealing his new technology and sabotaging anything she can’t take. She’s not a big fan of the superheroes though. They’d make her give back the money she’s taken and that’s not fair.

I’d love for her to double cross a superhero who is on the trail of Moretti; breaking them into his head quarters and then either stealing the evidence or leaving the super there to take the blame. She’d also love to form a partnership with a super villain who had more physical powers than her own to keep her safe.

I also play lost_direction and paraphrase who I’ll introduce shortly.

Welcome all to Axis City!

I'm Jon, I'm based in the UK and this is my first Super Heroes/Super Villains game, although I've been role-playing for about five years now, focusing on the HP fandom, and spiritual/supernatural and historical settings. I mostly play slash relationships, and tend to play more dubious characters, as I find them more enjoyable.

Here I play Alexander Moretti, Crime Lord of Axis City, a man looking to spread his influence over the rest of the country. He owns Moretti Media, an international news-broadcasting and publishing giant, and has recently opened his own science labs and technology manufacturing plant.

He likes to present an honest, family-friendly and above all wholesome image to the public, casting himself as a man who cares about the injustices ordinary people are forced to endure, and trying to reveal the corruption in the City to make it a better place for everyone.

Everyone, but especially Alexander Moretti. Unbeknown to almost all but the most keen and defiant Super Heroes, Moretti heads an army of Super Villains and mundane thugs and thieves, stepping-up his father's gang-war activities. Through this Network of Crime, Moretti hopes to take over the city in a matter of months, pulling the strings on a puppet government and from Axis City, he can turn his attention to the rest of the world.

Moretti owns the Axis City Daily News, or the ACDN, as well as the largest local broadcasting station. He uses it to present the news he wants people to hear, and all his reporters as required to take a strong anti-supers stance in their writing. He employs a great number of people in his organisations, villains, mundane and supers, and will be having a great deal of other interactions when the game starts officially, which should be within the next few days.
