I dun like subjects Who: Zuma, Jene and Ji When: Thursday, a few hours after dark Where: Courtyard of the boys' apartment What: Firedancing and conning
Sneaking out, apparently, was not as challenging as Zuma had assumed it would be. No, she could not just walk right out the gate after dark but it wasn’t terribly difficult either. There was a servant, Qin, in the palace sympathetic to the young girl, one who had been there since she was born. The servant seemed to understand...even if Zuma had not exactly told her all the details. All Zuma had to do was use the cloak Qin left with her and make sure her face could not be seen when she left...and be back before morning so no one else would even know she’d gone.
Zuma had bought a new outfit to meet with the boys, one of the firedancing dresses she had seen before. The outfit was two pieces and underneath the cloak, she was beginning to rethink it. At the time it had seemed lovely and it was a good outfit to firedance in but she felt exposed and debated just leaving the cloak on all night. The top was an orange choli style with fancy red and gold embroidery. The skirt had petals that left room for her legs to extend with movement of the dance where the pieces of frabric came together. It had a gradient effect of orange and red with embroidery on the hem of each petal and a fancy belt at the top of the skirt.
Outside the palace gates, Zuma let out a deep breath she did not know she was holding. She tried not to dwell on having to lie to her family and that she was sneaking out. It was not like lying about firedancing...it was not something she loved to do; she was just going to meet some boys. Something else she knew she should not be doing. Kozu would never let her hear the end of it if he knew. She bit her lip, indecisive for a brief moment before she took the first step towards the boys’ apartment. It was easy enough to find once she left the palace. She waited nervously in the courtyard, pulling her cloak tightly around her, still debating with herself if she should even be there.
