This is a fanfest dedicated to celebrating the ending of one of the best darn shows ever, and to promote Avatar fandom here on Insanejournal.

The Main Idea'
After the finale airs, I'll open the journal for prompts. They don't have to have anything explicit to do with the finale -- anything connected to the Avatar characters and universe. I'll close it at the end of the month (July), then allow people to claim prompts (and make up a schedule for posting). You have August and half of September to claim and write or draw your prompts. Posting begins on 15 September.

Timeline:
Posting Prompts: 20 July until 31 July
Claiming Prompts: 1 August until 14 September
Posting Stories: 15 September until 21 September

The Rules
Prompts
We're open to fanfiction or fanart. Prompts don't need to specify which.

Prompts should be Avatar related -- the characters or the setting or something. Crossovers, fusions and Alternate Universe/Alternate Reality prompts are allowed (but be aware you might well be the only one who has seen both series, so no one else might claim your Avatar/Crest of the Stars/Promethean Age idea).

(And if anyone can write that, color me amazed.)

Prompts should specify a character or characters. You can specify whether something be gen or shippy, or leave it up to the writer/artist. Also leaving something -- a word, a situation, a song lyric, or whatever is fine.

Claiming Posting
Minimum Length/Size: 1000 words (except on the last day) or one finished picture.

Claim as many prompts as you like and can do.

Note if your claim is for fic or art.

Prompts may be claimed by two writers and two artists.

On the last day of posting (21 Sept), you can post things you missed the deadline on, takes on prompts you didn't claim, and stuff that doesn't meet the length requirement (drabbles and sketches).

You can post things either directly to the community, or as a linkto a personal journal. I will be crossposting the day's links to various Avatar fic and art communities, so please don't post it yourself to said communities.

Please lj-cut all writing or art if you post it directly. A small (under 200 pixels on either side) preview (worksafe, please) or a paragraph may be left outside the cut.

Claims are open until the day before they are posted. (So midnight EDT of the day before)

I'm not going to enforce the claims, but don't be an ass about things. If you claim it, write or draw it, or at least intend to. Don't bite off more than you can chew.

After the Fest, feel free to post stuff for claims here (or at other communities).
